We have a glut of of prospects so who is going hold who back?I'd rather you and I play the corner spots this year than set the farm back significantly.

In Greinke you would get a guy who is at an age that is ripe for a decline and possibly a significant one. Just like Hamels, but more costly. They don't want Choo. Even if they did you would still be paying a ton of money to who might only have one good year left in him and maybe optimistcally 2 good years. The offset from Choo's contract would not even affect the last year of Greinke's contract when you would pay him $35 million. Darvish is a much better value overall and overall would give you more production. Greinke might outpitch Darvish one year-might.Which explains why the Rangers are looking at Grienke. You get a good TORP and move Choo. Best of both worlds. And then you add a #3 and a closer
Everyone has a glut of prospects. We don't have anywhere near a glut in high quality prospects. We have maybe 8 or 9 of those and most of those aren't even as highly regarded as some we have had in the past.We have a glut of of prospects so who is going hold who back?
The 2020 lineup we were talking about yesterday that you said "cooks" would be drastically impacted. We have a glut of of prospects so who is going hold who back?
s
o you would rather go with DeShields and Robinson/Rua?
Rosenthal also notes within that piece that the Giants, Blue Jays, Rangers and Twins are all looking for backup catchers as well. Any from that bunch could stand out as a reasonable landing spot for Avila, though he’s stated that his preference is to play for a contender even if it comes at the expense of some playing time. Jonathan Lucroy is the biggest name on the catching market but probably doesn’t wish to serve as a backup option; Rene Rivera, Nick Hundley and Chris Stewart are among the other available catchers.
Ephland notes that Lucroy is a little bitch and I never want him back here.
He certainly didn't handle himself professionally at all, and I, like you, want no part of his ass.
Don't want to see Lucroy back here.Rosenthal also notes within that piece that the Giants, Blue Jays, Rangers and Twins are all looking for backup catchers as well. Total disappointmentDon't want to see Lucroy back here.
7 of our top 30 prospects are outfielders so yes in my eyes that is a glut.I think "a glut of prospects" is overstating things quite a bit.
That's a loser attitude. If we can't win now then don't do anythingI'd much rather go with this combo than give up 3 prospects for a team which won't contend in 2018 regardless of who's roaming center.
