Most of the good stuff in the Rangers' system is far away, including the lone top-100 prospect, Leody Taveras. As usual, the Rangers have a lot of high-beta upside plays in their lower levels, including 2017 first-rounder Bubba Thompson, who earned positive reviews from scouts who saw him in the Arizona Rookie League. They're extremely light on starting pitching, however, which is alarming, given their current rotation, with only one starter under a guaranteed contract beyond 2018 and team options on three others for that season.

Not a fan of Law but pitching situation is one that is hard to argue with. Hope is guys who like they can make it do make it. Guys like Mike M and Brett M with injuries an not many innings logged turn it around. Do think we may surprise but maybe wishful thinking

My initial thought was this was a guy they had an extension preset. He did fine year one but now with the relief pitcher in the mix. No no. No. And never wanted to give up Bronson. Way too much

I know I drink too much Ranger Kool-Aid, and this is a classic example.

I thought/expected us to be getting a good, to very good defensive catcher, above avg arm, good to very good bat, and excellent teammate.

None of this was true.

It sure looks like he lost interest and did not give max effort all due to contract. Contract should never have been an issue. Still ticks me off

None of this was true.

It truly is unfortunate that lucroy turned down the Indians. ( for us and for lucroy) probably not so much the Indians he did them a favor.

Brinson and Williams was my preference. We had plenty of room for both.

Well yes that is weird their rankings are inverted. I would imagine Willie Rakes is closer to MLB ready but Leodys has more topside. Guess it s guide not Bible

We might play a few games before a smell check perhaps? Trading at the break is quite different from throwing up flag before pitchers and catchers report and in the midst of numerous unsigned FAs
