This bites. A pretty good haul. Now we know what it would have taken to get Yellich. But I wanted Bronson anyways

That is a good list to recall when people throw out the line that prospects are just prospects.

It was after our 2013 season when I first wanted to begin rebuilding if we couldn't go after 3 or 4 really good free agents. Having guys like Gallo, Brinson, Williams, Mazara and Alfaro 2-4 years away made rebuilding make a lot of sense.

Or we could reflect and say it was a very special group. But yes think if Hamels approved his trade to Houston. Things might have turned out differently for them and us

Marlins probably not done either, they still have Castro (doesn't want to be there) and Realmuto to dump, maybe even Bour (though I would keep Realmuto)

I really wanted a guy like Brinson who can be elite defensively and we could wait on his bat to develop. A guy like Buxton started slow but he is starting to come on strong. Brinson would compensate for our weak defense.

DeShields has elite speed but CF should be for best athlete on field IMO

Doubt we even go real FA pitching. JD will probably waste 35-45M on a 3 year deal with Cashner or Vargas or McCarthy. Just rebuild because we ain't going to see the positive side of .500 baseball for at least 3 years maybe more
