With the Cain signing and now Brewers looking to trade for a starter, I'm guessing Darvish said 'Thank you, no thank you" to their contract offer.

I think he wants to come back here. Not sure what Yu wants.
May be. He certainly has had plenty of opportunities to sign but if he turned down the Yankees he sure can't expect to see anything like that here. So, if money is not his game, what is?I think he wants to come back here.
Maybe if we had kept Nolan...
Kind of wish these guys were on club now
......we would have never had this Tslent in the first place. Ya think?Maybe if we had kept Nolan...
Fortunes with, fortunes without...and fortunes down south. Proof is in the pudding......we would have never had this Tslent in the first place. Ya think?

that wouldn't get it done. add 2 M each of the 4 years and 6M on each of the option yearsI wonder if the Rangers and/or Yu would do a 4 year deal with 2 more option years to kick in under certain circumstances with the per year amounts as follows.
2018 $14 million
2019 $18 million
2020 $24 million
2021 $28 million
Then 2 more option years with AAVs close to $24 million.
It keeps this year low while we are still paying Beltre and Hamels.
Maybe even one where Nick Williams would force Calhoun to DH. Then Taveras could have been trade bait.

Yeah, a lot of folks liked the Hamels trade. I felt the same way about both trades. I was really looking forward to an outfield of Williams, Brinson and Mazara.Well you're talking about the Hamels trade which while we overpayed, was an improvement at the time and Hamels has actually played relatively well throughout and could be argued an almost necessary evil, and Williams was one of those being sent that way regardless, basically Williams was gone regardless (I think we had an OFer logjam at that point and someone was getting traded)
My comment was purely about the Lucroy trade which I always hated the moment it was brought up the year before it was actually made
