The more I think about it, the more a Cousins for Kyrie swap makes sense.

Pels should be salivating at the thought of a Kyrie/AD pick-and-roll duo.

And even though Cousins is a risk, he is probably the best 5 man you could have for going against the Warriors. He can make them pay on the block on offense while also being able to switch and guard on defense.

If it works well, LeBron and Cousins will re-up next off-season. If not, you've suddenly got a shitload of cap-space going into an off-season with a ton of FA's and not a lot of cap space to go around. And you've still got Love.
LeBron, Love, Cousins would be very interesting.

It would definitely enable the Cavs to attack the Warriors in the one place that they are vulnerable. On the other hand, Lebron would have to be able to keep Boogie in check mentally and emotionally.

At the same time though, it would really expose Cleveland at the guard position. It would mean that 3 of their 6 best players would be bigs. They would be forced to stay big most of the time. That might not be a good thing. Rose and JR matched up with Curry and Klay is rough.

True. Which leads us back to...

there really is no way for the Cavs to improve enough to catch the Warriors.

Yep.

So while Wiggins and Teague might be the return package that makes Cleveland best, maybe Cousins is the wild card gamble worth taking. The Cavs could fail miserably and lose in the East playoffs, or maybe they push the Warriors a little if Cousins gets in line and plays like a beast.

The trade scenario that makes the most sense for everyone involved, IMO, would be this:

3 way deal:

Knicks get Kyrie
Cleveland gets Melo and Bledsoe
Suns get Ntilikina and a future first from the Knicks + a contract from Cleveland

Pelicans just heavily invested in Jrue Holiday.

To make the money work, it could be something like this, but it can't happen until Dec (Ntilikina):

Knicks get Kyrie, Frye
Suns get Ntilkina, JR Smith, future 1st from NY
Cavs get Melo, Bledsoe

If this were to happen, I'd like to see them move Thompson for something, preferably a G/F who can play defense and hit the 3. Brooklyn willing to move Allen Crabbe?

That's true. Forgot about that, although both Jrue and Kyrie have a solid enough shot that they could play the 2-role . . . just not sure either of them want to play the 2.

I know.

I am saying it was a messed up joke. Young and McGee deserve all the heat you can bring for their aloof on court play, but neither has ever gotten in any real trouble off the court. It was a messed up thing to imply, joking or not.

Wizards fans are still pissed about that era of Washington basketball.

yeah, it was almost like that time in Chiefs football when Javon Belcher shot himself and his girlfriend...

Yikes. Was Not going there. That was a real tragedy. Thankfully the Wizards' mess didn't end that badly, but it could have.

....and signed Rondo.

Well, Kyrie isn't really a point guard, so there is that.

However, that is a really small 1-2 combo with another smallish lead guard first off the bench. Not a lot of defense going on there, and they all need the ball in their hands. This would not make the Pelicans better.

Has Dan Le Batard always been this obnoxious? When he was a REPORTER when he was in Florida.....I thought he was fairly good.
