I think that is the problem though.

He could have a good career and be a fringe all star for 10 years. That won't be enough for many. The hype is out of control. I think some are expecting him to be the next Magic. Magic saying that he expects to see Ball's jersey hanging from the rafters someday probably doesn't help either.

Many people expect Lonzo Ball to be a savior. I think he is going to be a good team player, but I would be surprised if he ever develops into a legit superstar.

I agree that the hype is out of control, but that's not on Lonzo, that's on Lavar.

While I think his shot is going to need some work, his elite vision and passing ability could very well lead to him being a legit star.

People who are looking at him as a savior need to get a grip. He looks like he could be very good, but we're not talking Magic or Lebron here.

I think Jason Kidd is his ceiling and if he can at least get close to that...he'll be just fine and Lakers fans will be very happy with him.

For that matter, with what we have seen at the point over the past few years, I think many of us would be happy if he could reach Nick "1,2,3 Cancun" Van Exel level. lol

Yeah, I totally get why he played this character to get where he/they are, but what's the point of this? He's already on the Lakers, the BBB brand is out there, etc. What's the angle now?

Lavar played them, and us. Hype sells.

He's an annoying old man who is doing what he can to get more attention, his son is on the fucking lakers they don't need to work for more attention. When he first started this crap, it was kinda funny because he was saying stupid shit. Now it's overplayed and we know it'll just be more nonsensical rambling every time he opens his mouth.

Agreed 100%, as I just posted above, I get why he did this up to now, but what he thinks he's accomplishing now is a mystery

Maybe he likes pushing his sons expectations up so high that not even an MJ/LeBron/Hakeem hybrid super player could live up to them.

I don't think there's a good answer for that. Maybe he just loves hearing himself talk and knows ESPN will give him a mic anytime he asks for it.

Yeah they have major problems lately with all the cord cutting and so on. People don't need them anymore to get their sports fix with Twitter and all the sports sites. It's actually affecting (negatively) the stock of their parent Disney.

18 and 10 for Bam. Can't wait to see him playing with actual NBA talent.
