Haven't been on the board the last couple days. Has @WiggyRuss reappeared?

He logged in yesterday. Too much of a coward to post.

I hope he doesn't think that starts the clock on his Avatar bet.

You fucking lost. Now, Be a man.

Celtics-Sixers trade could be a 3 way deal with the Bulls.....possibly involving Butler and Okafor.

What would Chicago get out of this? My guess is they'd get #3 and Okafor. Boston gets Butler and Philly gets Fultz. This would be a huge start to the offseason.

If Boston gets Butler.....I think that puts them on par with the Cavs. They need another scoring option to help out IT.

CHI would get PHI 2017 #3, LAL 2018, and possibly BKN 2018, and Okafor.
PHI gets #1
BOS gets Butler
PHI can take on any salaries that need to be moved around.

That's a pretty good haul for CHI.
BOS gets their secondary star.
PHI gets Fultz.

It puts them closer. Don't think it evens out yet. They would need another big trade to get to that level.

Read something else that Ainge is stockpiling picks to make a run at a trade for Anthony Davis.

That can't be real.

Butler is good, but he is not worth both Nets picks + the Lakers pick. If the Celtics gave up that much without unloading salary, they would end any chance they ever had of contending.

.....or to sign Hayward, Milsap, Griffin or Ibaka.

That gets them closer.

Plus, what will the Cavs even look like when all those bought out additions skedadles?

Will they pay Korver?

Will they trade Love?

The East could be very interesting next year.

But, as long as the Cavs have this version of LeBron, they have to still be the favorites.....right now.

I'm glad it's not just me...lol

But, then I remember the Clippers gave Memphis a 1st rounder for 2 months of Jeff Green.

Granted, it was a shit pick in comparison.

So....maybe this is their homerun swing?

Convincing another max guy to sign up is a easier pitch with Thomas, Horford and Butler.

Final deal is #1 for #3 and next year's Lakers' pick (if top 5, otherwise they get the 2019 Kings pick), should be official on Monday.

If a Butler trade happens, it will be separate.

Except, if they deal picks for Butler, they lose their cap flexibility to sign a big FA.

I keep hearing the AD rumors. That is the player they need. Would this be enough?

2017 pick 3, 2018 Nets pick, 2018 Lakers pick + a player or two (Crowder, Bradley, Smart, etc.). The Pelicans would have to consider, right? That would be a serius haul once you factor in that they would likely suck this year too, leading to another high lotto pick.

I know they want to give Cousins and Davis time together, but I don't see it happening for them.

Not even close. They'd sooner trade every other player on their roster and start from scratch.

Plus, if they were really desperate for draft picks, they would just tank next season and keep AD any way.

3 high lotto picks is a chance to start over with cost controlled players. They probably don't think they have to, but the reality is that the Pelicans have terribly mismanaged their roster and probably ruined any chance they have to be competitive in the Anthony Davis era. Unless they land a free agent like CP3, they are not going anywhere anytime soon.

You're under the assumption than the Pelicans will find someone better than AD with the 3rd pick. There's also no guarantees how high/low the Lakers' pick will be.

You'd essentially be trading AD for Josh Jackson plus fillers.
