The Celtics would have to get Kenyon Martin out of retirement to play PF for 20-23mpg.

As a C's fan... I'd be most concerned with the lack of size.

As presented by whoever that guy is... there in no true center on the team, period... and only one true PF.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on these fronts... but who the C's gonna call if they drop Horford like he's hot?

Horford is also a great cog in a modern, team based NBA offense. His shooting, passing and decision making are exceptional for a big man. This has to be factored in.

You need a 50% ft shooting Deandre Jordan type.

Or, a less fragile Bogut would be even BETTER.

One possible option... as more of back-up, realisitically... is Zizic who currently plays overseas.

The C's would still need more size than that, though.

That is a good starting 5, you just don't want to force them to all play 40mpg.....they'd be gassed by the time the playoffs roll around.

That's not optimal (to say the least) for the grind of an NBA season.

There would have to be another solution to those size woes.... I don't think Stevens/Ainge and Co. are just gonna kill their guys by having everyone play one position up night in and night out.

What's happening to Brown, Tatum, Crowder, Bradley, and Zeller? Are all traded? Zeller looks like he could be included in a July 1 deal and then waived by the receiving team and his contract wouldn't be guaranteed. I'm not sure they'd have to trade all those guys to make it work.

Yeah, you cut Afflao to give the youngsters burn.

But, you sign vets to take that burn away?

Afflalo was cut because he couldn't be thrown in a trade, they have enough SG's already. There needs to be some elder statesman on the team, out of the 11 guys they currently have 9 are under 24 years old. It's a tough mix between giving the young guys enough time while not wearing them down by playing too much too soon.

A rim protector would be nice... but I think the C's could settle for some semblance of rebounding and decent team defense.

That proposed Celtics club would outscore most teams, most nights.
