Only guy on that list that I really like for the role is Randolph.

Taj would be ok / fair.

I've never liked Illaysova (sp?) whatsoever. Guy sucks.

Taj would be better than Randolph, IMO. They don't need or even want a post scorer. They need defense. Stevens' offense is built around multi skilled bigs who can space the floor. I feel like Randolph lacks the skills needed to fit, and he isn't great defensively.

Yea, you make some sense with this... however, Taj Gibson isn't a great fit in the C's offense, either.

I really like Randolph's rebounding... that's what excited me about the name more than anything... although, he is getting older and maybe I'm living in the past there.

The Celtics could certainly do worse than Ersan. He's a solid player.

I live in the Atlanta area... caught some Hawks action... maybe it was just the small sample size I watched, but guy sucked every time I saw him.

I see his stats are reasonably decent so it's probable just me.

That is a really strong roster. Would be a serious championship contender most years. Definitely capable of beating Cleveland, don't think they could hang with GS though. Avery Bradley's defense was one of the main reasons they matched up well with GS before.

I have to think the Celtics would be able to find a cheap big or two like the Warriors did last year. All they would need is 2 bodies that could provide 15-20 solid minutes of defense and rebounding. Zizik could perhaps be one.
I think Zizik is definitely a part of future plans.

I mean -- he's not a star or even starter. But he has enough positive qualities that you can justify putting him on your roster. Can shoot, can score, can rebound. Solid stretch-four who can contribute for a contender.

Yeah... even in that role, he looked too mechanical and too often made poor decisions... again, it could well be the case that I got a bad sampling.

Came across as a poor man's Olynyk to me... ugh!

Lmao.......not surprised.

But even with LeBron-to-Los Angeles (Clippers or Lakers) rumors swirling, that plan might not even get off the ground. Mike Wise of The Undefeated on Freddie and Fritz: I’m going to give you something on this show, and this is breaking news. Nobody else is going to have it. I got from a very good authority – a very good authority – that LeBron James will never be a Clipper. I can’t tell you who, but I’m going to tell you it’s somebody that knows, and LeBron James will never be a Clipper. I don’t know if that’s because he remembers what the Clippers used to be, or he just doesn’t want to put his lot in there, or he thinks Steve Ballmer is just too animated on the sideline. He’s never going to be a Clipper. I’m just telling people right now, for your edification. I’m breaking this on the Freddie Coleman and Fitz show.

Did all the sobbing Doc was doing force them to cut the meeting short? How many times you gotta meet to say " I'm going to the Spurs"?

Kid needs to grow up

This should end any further questions about why the Lakers got rid of his ass.

Apparently, he didn't learn anything from the Nick Young thing.

A stacked Celtics team might actually help the Cavs give a fuck during the regular season, which would be a welcome change.

A lot of what happened in the Finals was the Warriors just being the better team. But some of what happened - imo - was the Cavs overly relying on flipping a switch.

I seem to recall mentioning that sometimes when a team "flips the switch," the lights don't come on. Even used the Shaq/Kobe Lakers as an example.

I also remember a certain poster (not you) ridiculing that opinion.

Good thing for that certain poster, I'm not one to say "I told you so." :dhd:

Time, as always, vindicates.

I think the lights definitely came on, they just weren't bright enough.

The 6 vet minimum or 2nd rounders is what stuck out for me.

Which is why I asked would this really be seen as a stacked roster?

Reminds me to much of my Clippers lack of depth over the years.

But, you'd find vets willing to take that minimum to play for a chance at a title....

Randolph, Tony Allen, etc.
