Depends on what they do next week.

Deandre and Rivers are off the books after the Season.

*players option *

That's max money on its own.

That's why I would love a Aldridge for Blake deal.

Lamarcus would be a placeholder for Blake's money, without losing ground.

He's off the books too.

The problem I see with this is that it still leaves the Clippers short against a healthy Warriors. If DJ walks and LA walks, you are going with Lebron, CP3 and spare parts.

If the Clips keep Blake, DJ or LA, you're still one star player short of what the Warriors have. Although, you would have a team uniquely set up to attack the Warriors in their weakest spot, the paint and probably still good enough to defend them on the perimeter.

You can't turn youself into a good player without the playing time....fact is Redick got it. Fredette didn't.

Maybe the latter never proved he was deserving of more playing time, while the former did.

I'm not trying to be biased about him, just calling it like I see it. Hell Steve Alford was a great CBB player yet he struggled in the NBA also. Both were great shooters who had trouble creating shots for themselves.

Fredette never got much of a chance to show what he could do. Career average of 13mpg.....he's a rhythm shooter. Those types need time to play and get in a rhythm. He's a lot like JJ Redick. If Redick only had 13mpg we might be talking about him being a bust. When Redick had less than 18mpg he wasn't producing much, he didn't develop until he got 25mpg in Orlando.
Dude is a short ass Trajan Langdon.

JJ is no HOFer.

But, he whores Jimmer.

I agree. Great CBB doesn't always translate to even average NBA player. It's a different league.

I knew Fredette was going to struggle in the NBA. All he was is a great shooter. But as you've mentioned, once he had someone athletic on him, he struggled mightily. More often than not, you run into athletic defenders in the NBA.

Okay I give up. You're right. Jimmer's a damn good NBAer. I guess the league is black mailing him?

Exactly. Not sure why DJ can't/won't accept this. I could see his issue if I was badmouthing him but I'm not.

Fredette made 38% of his 3's In the NBA and Alford a pathetic 32%.

Where's Fredette playing now? If Fredette was so special, out of the 30 teams in the NBA, why hasn't anyone picked him up?

It's the dangers of debates. Some are unwilling to give on their stance and entrench themselves on their opinion. Even if it makes their argument look weaker and more asinine.

You think Hayward is better then Butler?
Not necessarily... but it's close. I would say that Hayward is probably a better fit for the team style offense that Boston runs.

Also, Butler has a better team friendly contract for the next two seasons.
Boston saved some assets in waiting on Hayward... assets they may be able to parlay into an additional move to truly challenge for a Championship.

Boston has a pretty good squad already.....anything they do only enhances it.

They got destroyed by the Cavs when it mattered.
3 of the most brutal beatings at home, ever, by a 1 seed.
If they passed on a sure thing, top 15 player, just hoping to get others, it's a mistake.

Oh, I agree he was and is better but my point is Fredette never had a valid chance to show what he can do. Redick's numbers we underwhelming until he got a shot with the Magic to play more, when he averaged 25.6mpg he started to put up better numbers.

Redick isn't "athletic" either....Fredette's problem is he didn't get enough PT. He's averaging over 30ppg in China and he isn't athletic over there.....he's just getting a lot of PT and shooting the lights out.
You have a point about the playing time.

* See Billups, Jermaine Oneal, CJ McCollum etc

I'd also like to add, going to the unstable Kings didn't help matters.

But, thats not why Jimmer failed.

He is two inches shorter than JJ and is a shit ball handler and a albatross on the defensive end.

You cant get on the floor with those flaws @ 6'2

It is what it is. But the fact that no teams even want Jimmer right now speaks volumes.

It's way too early to play guessing games about what the Lakers could look like after next year. And we have both been watching basketball long enough to know that sometimes rookie hype is totally pointless. How many so called can't miss CBB players get to the NBA & do next to nothing? I hope Lonzo's the right pick for your Lakers but right now it's obviously way too early to guess how good he could be.

I completely agree. It's the off season, so speculation and rumors are really all we have at this point. First, the Lakers have to actually get PG-13, which may or may not happen.

Kevin Love was rumored to want to be a Laker to the point that most GM's were saying they weren't even going to pursue him because it was "a done deal." When he went to Cleveland, many thought he would be a 1 year rental. Then he decided that playing for titles was more fun than joining a rebuild.

If a team like the Celtics decides to take a risk and trade for him without an extension in place, it would be a risk But if they get to the finals, he may decide to stick around.

He may also decide that he likes the idea of going to a team that just made the ECF, especially if he feels like he can get that team over the hump, and decide to sign an extension as part of a trade. If either of those things happen, the Lakers will have to go to plan B.

Agree about Lonzo. All signs point to him being the right pick for the Lakers, but he also hasn't played 1 second of NBA basketball yet. So, we have no idea how he will react. Maybe he's the next Magic, maybe he's a bust...maybe he falls somewhere in between? :noidea:

We'll see.
Boston seems to always be the team in trade discussions, then always the team that doesn't make a move.
It seems like Ainge is looking to always want to be viewed as having won the trade vs improving the team where it would be viewed fair to both sides.
Then, instead of doing that, gives a max to Horford in FA,and apperently will make the same mistake IMO with I.T.
