Looks like a chopped Ranger truck
Perhaps it's the return of the Bronco II

It's a powertrain mule. Ford Ranger body from the back of the cab to front, but the back end may be tied to the Bronco....and they went out of the way to hide the suspension. Remember...the new Bronco will based on the 1973 Bronco and that vehicle was fairly small....much smaller than Bronco II.

What if....

That IS the Bronco. If you remember, the old broncos were almost just like the truck it was based on....with a removable camper shell.

Was very similar to....

I think that is going to be the case here. When they say the new Bronco will be built off the ford Ranger....they mean this.

The two vehicles will, as they did in the past, have many interchangeable parts. From the cab forward they will most likely be identical.

It's not the Bronco. Ford has already shown a side profile of what the Bronco will be, and it's dramatically different than the Ranger. These recent pics are simply the Bronco chassis with a Ranger body.

2020 Ford Bronco spy shots suggest solid rear axle with coil springs
dims

We'll know more about the Bronco when it finally makes its debut in time for the 2020 model year. It seems it will have a removable roof and doorslike the Wrangler and the old versions of the Bronco. Since the Bronco will be based on the Ranger, the 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and 10-speed automatic seem likely possibilities for propulsion, but a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 and 7-speed manual will reportedly be available.

What Ricky Roma said... Test mule for the new Bronco Chassis suspension set up maybe, but nothing like what they put a cover over once upon a time ago.

Derpa derp...

That is a test mule with the "current" Ranger body.

When they decided to build the Bronco on a Ranger chassis they decided to revamp the Ranger too.

They will both be all new.....and practically the same from the front.

This is what the new Ranger will look like:

The above were taken in Melbourne, Australia. They gave away the secret down under.

Unless Ford plans on building a totally different looking Ranger and Bronco for the U.S. market, then that is what it will look like.

What are you talking about? Look at the Bronco covered up in posts #308 and #309. THAT is the Bronco profile, which is not close to any Ranger, whether you're looking at the current edition or leaked future model. The different windshield rake clearly illustrates this.

If so then ....look again.

How can you tell what the "windshield rake" is?

It has a visor sticking off the roof in case you didn't notice.....

Could also be the new "Baby Bronco" built on the Escape.

I heard they will make an all new Ranger Raptor.

Rumor has it that is what this thing was a mule for:

6 lugs, big wheels and tires... the beefy suspension and skid plates are the clues.

Everything I've read, from Ford insiders to guys who actually work at the Michigan Assembly Plant, (where they'll build both the Bronco and Ranger) it's a totally different vehicle. The actual Bronco mules have not rolled out yet.

You better have these workers talk to the promotion people then. Because they are promoting the 2021 Ford Bronco and Ranger being all new and being based on the same platform. But I'm sure YOU know different having those "insiders" that you know from Michigan.
