Pistons are done
What a comeback in San Antonio. Lakers rolling.
SPURS just playing on fumes without any players. Most frustrating season in the Pop era.
Injuries have devasted the team. This is arguably the worst roster they have fielded in 20 years
Kyle Anderson, Gasol, David Bertans, Patty Mills, Dejounte Murray is the freaking starting lineup for the foreseeable future.
That is a 15 win roster if they keep using it.
They keep trying, but honestly the Lakers have a better lineup of talent.
By the time they get healthy, they might miss the playoffs altogether.
The Injury to Lamarcus Aldridge might be the nail in the coffin.
I was just looking at the line up - and in my opinion the only reason the Spurs are in the playoffs is because of the greatness of Popovich. I know the Lakers should have beat the talent the Spurs have lined up, but that was huge win - Popovich is the best coach in the NBASPURS just playing on fumes without any players. Manu is now hurt as well. He will likely miss some games.
Symbolic of the whole season. at 40, he was the only one who did not get hurt, but he finally joined the ambulance crew.
I would just sign someone like Boris Diaw off the street in order to have full practice squads. They dont have enough players to run practices according to Pop now.
10 of those wins(and 3 of the losses) were against bottom 9 teams who are mostly tanking. A couple nice wins against OKC, Boston, SA(although they are crap without LMA and Kawhi), and even Indy but a lot of that is based off horrible competition. Not to say the Lakers aren't playing better and it's a step in the right direction but it's not overly impressive either.Food for thought here:
Lakers are 17-7 in their last 24 games.
20 games left
