All star voting is a joke

I don't get the gimmicks.

It's bad enough dealing with the foreign votes for the undeserving* Zsa Zsa last year * or the popular fanbase * Wade being a bench player and Thomas playing 1 game*.

But, to have your vote count double on certain days makes it that much worse.

By all accounts the NBA is trending upwards in popularity.

This was unneeded to drum up attention.

That was such a ridiculous post considering all the injuries the Heat dealt with in December to top players. The fact that this is team is 3 games over .500 after entering December under .500 is pretty damn good
Alright, I don't follow the heat closely enough to know about all their injuries. I just looked at their games over the stretch you mentioned and the outcomes. With the injuries it is a little better, but still not a tough section of the schedule.

I still believe that a first round out is their ceiling. I don't think they can win a series against the Cavs, the Celts, the captors, the wiz, or even the bucks or pistons. And I don't think they can finish high enough to avoid any of those teams, so first round out is the ceiling.

Still disagree about their ceiling. I think they can get out of the first round depending on the match up and health. They're obviously not beating the Cavs. I hope we're not low enough to face Boston even though we play them pretty well.

A Detroit series is a toss up.

As for the other teams, IMO that is TBD. They have yet to play Toronto or Milwaukee yet so I have no idea how they match up against those 2.

One thing Miami got going for them (so far) compared to most of the other teams they're currently fighting with for playoffs seeding is they're a much better road team. They're tied with Toronto for the 2nd best road record in the East. The other teams currently in positions 4-8 out East are all under .500 on the road

We'll see what happens. I still think Miami will improve a lot in the 2nd half once Waiters, Winslow, and McGruder return. Think they're a 45-48 win team which obviously can land them in that 4/5 match up

If LeBron does come......you're exiled from being a Lakers fan.

Sounds like he will self-exile if that happens

Good game in Houston. I'm as sure as ever it's a Rockets Warriors WCF, and it's going at least 6.

Not sold on Houston yet.....especially not in a likely D'Antoni vs Pop 2nd round match up.

Pop run laps around that guy

I agree. This Rockets team is surprising me.

The Spurs are the Spurs but I just like the trade for CP and he'll school TP. Houston has an advantage in the backcourt.....and I think that will be the difference in a good series.

Spurs can easily hide Parker and place him on someone like Ariza

Vs a good team like the Rockets, I'll take the +4 as the Warriors' 3rd quarter beatdown LOL

The All star system is completely broken.

The new " double vote days" have made it absolutely ridiculous.

Ex .. Kuzma has twice as many votes as Jimmy Butler.

Before you say it's because of the Market he plays in, Ginosebleed almost has more votes than Lonzo and Kuzma...COMBINED.

Remember this is just the fan aspect of the voting. There's another 50% that we don't see which comes from the players and media
