I don't get the gimmicks.

It's bad enough dealing with the foreign votes for the undeserving* Zsa Zsa last year * or the popular fanbase * Wade being a bench player and Thomas playing 1 game*.

But, to have your vote count double on certain days makes it that much worse.

By all accounts the NBA is trending upwards in popularity.

This was unneeded to drum up attention.

Didn't Yao Ming once get voted in or nearly voted in when he was hurt? I feel like that's happened. Or Kobe got voted in while hurt. I get fans should be able to see who they like play, but it's an ALL STAR game.

The reason why Beasley will never really be in this conversation is because he will never post numbers on a good team. His flaws are very real. Yes, he can score. Until he realizes there is more to the game, he won't be a useful contributor for a non-bad team.

I actually just went back to look at their draft class and it's a really underrated strong draft.
