That's a pretty nice game. But ESPN's headline of "Lonzo shines in debut at MSG" seems a little over the time. Talk about grading on a curve.
KCP, Lonzo and Kuz played well.

I like the kid and hate to see him being torn down after every bad game.

So, I'm okay with them overpraising their clickbait Champion.

Funny stat of the night..

Ingram missed his first 10 shots and finished with a better plus/minus than Lonzo....lmao

Sometimes stats really do lie.

Because, Ingram was dogshit compared to Lonzo.

True. I just don't see Kuzma developing like they did. I don't think he's going to be the next Kawhi Leonard.....

Sorry.
Oh shit...me neither...lol

Thank you for pointing out that omission on my part.

But, he could be.......

His absolute ceiling....Danny Granger, pre-knee deterioration.

+/- is a somewhat useful stat in aggregate but game to game it is largely meaningless.

Great grind it out win last night.

Embiid is so fricking talented.

I never gave him enough credit for his passing ability.

2 dimes short of a triple double.

Goodness.

Everyone forgets about Saric.

He won that game last night when he hit those 3's.

That's what happens with the hype his father has brought. Just the fact that he's on the Lakers means that he wasn't ever going to get to develop anonymously. Add in Lavar's mouth and you get what we're getting.

After every sub par game, he's a bust.

After every good game, he's a Hall of Famer. lol

Nah, his absolute ceiling is James Worthy.

Almost typed that with a straight face.

Last night was the first time I actually saw joy on his face while he was playing.

Could have been a combination of his family being together, having a good game, playing on Broadway.

But, it was good to see.

Agree.

I think the joy might be more about his Dad (hopefully) going to Lithuania soon. :D

Saric is really starting to find his place on the team. The team was a little out of sorts with Covington out and Saric playing the 3. Saric hitting those 3s were huge.

Rishaun Holmes had a really good game as well.

Amir Johnson seemed pretty lost for a lot of the game. Which is what you get sometimes from Johnson.

Embiid is such a unicorn. I love watching him Eurostep some big man as if he were a guard. The pass he had to Simmons underneath the hoops was brilliant.

I really hope that Fultz can come back in the next month and start contributing some as a sub.

True. I certainly don't blame Lonzo for the hype. Not his fault.

Happy for Holmes and he made getting rid of Okafor a no brainer.

I almost fainted when Embiid hit em with that Euro step...lol

Towns tried to hold his ground in that matchup and had a few good blocks.

But, he was exhausted trying to keep up with Joel.

Something is wrong with that Wolves team.

They really need to establish a pecking order.

Yeah, pretty interesting that of all the hype going on around him, he feeds into it the least. He just seems like a quiet kid who just wants to play basketball.

Even during post game interviews, he looks like he'd rather be anyplace else. lol

Last 2 or 3 games he's shot fairly decent as well. Hopefully he's starting to get past whatever has been going on with his shot.

Apparently, he shoots well in practice. I guess the Lakers have a drill of some sort where they can't end practice until everyone hit's 100 three's and the last time they did it, Lonzo hit his 100 in 141 shots. Of course, that's without any defense, but still pretty darn good.

He's a lot like Kidd as a rookie.....hate to bring that up but it's a fair comparison, they are very similar.

I think he'll figure it out and shoot a decent rate eventually.

Agree. Even if his shot continues to improve (how could it not? lol), I still think he needs to work on raising his release point in the off season.

Clearly they have a problem defining the go to guys at crunch time which is why they struggle so much in the 4th quarter.

Towns played well last night. He seemed to be really dedicating himself to defending Embiid and had some good stops. I don't think anyone in the league can shut down Embiid. But Towns was fairly effective but he was gassed in OT.

Define nice?

At least one of Rich Paul's clients will regret turning down lucrative deals last Summer.

I don't see either getting more, Noel most certainly will get less.

Unless you are being packaged with LeBron, Rich looking like a false prophet.
