Another Cable Band-aid and again it's one covered in blood and pus. I just wish they would bring in a competent Oline coach. Britt was a better player his rookie season than he is now. Unger was better as a rookie and regressed, Okung has Regressed, Only player i saw IMPROVE was Carp ( contract year ) and Sweezy ( until last season ). These guys all have the same thing in common .... Cable trying to teach them how to Pass block :L Can we just move on from Cable PLEASE!!! These guys either stay the same ( piss poor ) or regress.

We've been through this many times. While you have valid points the Seahawks are designed to spend money on the D first and other areas after and the Oline is the most financially neglected area on the team. Heck, I believe at this moment our punter us higher paid than any Olineman on the roster (which is rather pathetic)!

It is hard to judge Cable based on the lack of money (I think we were last or almost last in the NFL in cap space spent on the OL) and our run blocking has been pretty good over the years (how much credit goes to the OL and how much to Lynch is also debatable) but the pass blocking has been admitably horrible for years now.

When you have a $22m QB its time to change the diagram, you cant continue to build defense and neglect the OL or you are asking to get that qb killed.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Seahawks and OT J’Marcus Webb have reached agreement on a contract.

This is the second offensive tackle signed to a contract by Seattle in as many days, and makes you wonder if they preparing for Russell Okung to move on in free agency.

Webb, 27, if a former seventh-round pick of the Bears back in 2010. He spent three years in Chicago before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Vikings at the start of the 2013 season.

Webb briefly joined the Chiefs before returning to the Vikings and eventually signing a one-year deal with the Raiders last April.

In 2015, Webb appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 48 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.

Webb played guard last year, and tackle in the past. Pre-draft he seems like the new Bailey (can play 4 positions).

NE had to do it - they needed cap space. Arizona, I'm not so sure. This deal cost them $10 millions ($7.8 for Jones and $2.2 in Cooper dead money). This drops their cap to $2.7 million even before the money they will need for the draft. There will be cuts coming out of Zona (not to mention I thought Cooper was one of their better lineman).

The Webb signing is more about depth at the G position where he'll most likely be getting most snaps this year. He's a versatile player who could cover T if called upon, but he's there to add depth to the G spot.

As for Okung, analysts are claiming that the way this is tracking shows he's demanding way more than any of the teams he's visited as willing to offer. And now basically cross Steelers off the list. We find out soon.

That has always been my concern with him representing himself. He was always going to overvalue himself, and he felt he was the only one who could get it for him, and not having an agent fee is nice as well. There was never going to be a reasonable opinion of value with Okung thinking up his market value himself. This could drag out until he finds himself on a lesser one year prove it deal and try again next offseason.

So, he's starting then? He grades out as terrible as a Tackle. 2.5 mil guaranteed. Close to starting money.

I would assume they plan on him replacing Sweezey - or if push comes to shove, moving him to RT and switchin Gilliam to left. A very long shot for them to feel this is a straight across insurance for if Okung doesn't re-sign and play him at LT. No matter what they eventually do, it is apparent that they are invest into him.

Or competing with Britt for LG.
