Yes, because otherwise they need to expose a decent reliever to waivers (unless they want to send down our best reliever, who has options).

The author's line of thinking is pretty much the only thing that could happen, one of the relievers needs rest and goes on the dl. If one of Romo, Kontos, Smith, Peavy or I cannot remember who else didn't pitch yesterday doesn't appear today, they could be retro dl'd in time to be activated by Sept 1st.

Osich didn't look that great in Richmond and just moved to Sacramento, so he has some time. I was about to say I wouldn't be surprised if Law goes down for a few days but he would have to sit in Sac for 10 days and that seems too long for their best reliever.

With the way we're going, why not send down Law, and find our best hitter and send them down, too. Won't make much of a difference with the way these jokers are playing and being managed. Man, yesterday's loss really hurt. Coughing up a 7-1 lead?!? Ugh.

Law was the best pitcher yesterday, and has been our best reliever this season.

BUT, I think this is the route they take. Law or Strick (does he have an option?) get sent down because of their heavy work load.
