Serena losing is a huge surprise. This tourney was all but served up to her on a silver platter. Mattek was the only one with a legit chance to beat her. Could be the beginning of a downhill ride for her going forward. Womens tennis is not that strong these days though so she will have a decent chance at winning more slams next year.

It's amazing watching Stan try to get to Fed's backhand, and Fed running around to hit huge inside out forehands. Really nice by Fed. He'll struggle mightily to do that to Nole.

I've been a Fed fan as long as you have or more.

He's protecting his backhand and Stan has no answers. That's a fact.

I don't underestimate his game, ever. There's a reason he has 1 major in the past 5 years, and hasn't made a US Open final since 2009. I state facts and back them up. Sorry if that bothers you.

Anyway, if Fed can play like this against Nole and get to net a lot for a lot of points, and run around backhands effectively, he could win. That's a massive "if", though.

Hope he does it, but it would take something monumental, even for him.
