That would be really nice. Frankly, at this point if we can just play .500 ball I'll be happy. This news has really been a kick in the nuts.

Honestly I have sort of been expecting this news since last year when he didn't pitch through to the end of the season. I think the arm trouble preceded even that timeframe. I believe they hoped then, that whatever issues were there would be resolved with the rest of the offseason.

Glad I didn't put any money on a 80+ win season

I'm embarrased for Sherrington after reading that. Someone should be. :L

Agreed. For some reason maybe it's just me but I don't think I ever really care about Sherrington's thoughts on the Rangers.

Baseball time guys. No fielder in the lineup.

I base it on his starts at the ML level. My opinion has nothing to do with his ST start. He's a sinker baller without a great GB rate.

He's also an extremely young pitcher learning on the job. He really seemed to put it together down the stretch last season. If I remember right you were the eternal pessimist about holland too when I kept telling everyone he was a stud.

I like the aggressive base running so far.

That wasn't me.

That was not smart base running by peguero. Oh well.

Lineup is thin of many regulars aside from Roogie, Rua, Martin and Chirinos

Getting to see Detwiler in action though. Not bad so far. First out was a loud fly ball to right, but looking good otherwise.

And that too is really dumb.

I haven't said anything dumb. Tepesch doesn't get GBs like a sinker baller should. Look it up. I wasn't a fan of our pitcher screwing around with the commentators while we were losing the game and series. I certainly wasn't the only one that felt this way.

Holland wasn't doing impressions during the game. He did them during a commentary show after he helped tie up the series.

Nice 3 up 3 down inning with a k for Detwiler. 2 k's in two innings.

Because he has been good in the past.
And Nick has shown improvement in the past and wasn't bad at all in his last 10 starts last season. I don't believe Nick has been pitching long enough to lose faith in him yet. He may not ever consistently be even a #4 quality pitcher, but I think it is way too early to give up on him based on what he has shown so far.
