Today was the first time that we have met with cruz' people. Looks like we are looking at plan C. Not sure how interested we really are. If he was willing to take a team friendly discount though, then why not?

Sometimes a player needs to realize that there is something about how they fit in with a specific team. They are comfortable and relaxed and have had things go well for them with that team. And then they get big headed and go somewhere else and they struggle. I think Cruz would be that kind of a player. It would be very unwise for him to not stay with the Rangers. A team that stuck with him multiple times sending him down to get straightened out and calling him back up and then forgiving him at the end of his suspension and bringing him back for the play-in game.

I have no issues with a player following the money, especially a late bloomer with baggage like Cruz.

He'd probably have to be willing to DH also.

A team with cruz, beltre, fielder, and rios in the lineup is still good, just not as good as we all are hoping. I still stand strong to my opinion. Regardless of who we sign, I think we're gonna make one more trade this offseason

Okay, so enough of headley, for now. I heard that a member of the Ranger front office was approached by a member of the Dodger's front office. So hear me out here, this is the rumor from my friend. It may be true, it may not be true. Here it goes.

The dodgers, rays, and rangers are either looking at a 3 team trade or a wheel and deal trade. One that would send david price to the dodgers, matt kemp to the rangers, and prospects to the rays and dodgers. They also may be workin on a wheel and deal trade that would send price to the dodgers for prospects and immediately after send kemp to texas for prospects. It's in preliminary talks. If you remember from last year, this is what the upton thing was like, so dont get excited (or unexcited) yet.

Remember, that is a RUMOR.

Hmmm

Who is the Carvell dude? He seems to be the leader over there.

HayyAbbot

The story on him is that he once played minor league ball. He was a super wash basher before any of us would even think to criticize wash. I didn't buy into that line of thinking until 2012 when MY would play every DAMN day.

He said he would leave forever many times and always seems to come back. He's also a Romo basher, which really pisses me off, because I will not stand for Romo bashing.

If a team is willing to give him a 4 year deal at his price then I wouldn't blame him for signing that deal. After all in the end the player has to do what's best for him and his family.

I wondered about that, Terps. Does it mean we've given up on Choo/Kemp or would we still pursue them? If we sign him, that is.

Good point. Which leads me to the next question. Would you rather have Cruz or Morales at DH? Considering price, familiarity, and productivity

Cruz would likely be a DH, but I think Choo is out of the question for us at this point. I think we're gonna push hard for kemp though

To give clout to the Rays/Dodgers thing............ this just in from Newberg's COFFEY

According to Bruce Levine (670 The Score/Chicago), the Rays and Dodgers “may be matching up on David Price.” However, one executive from a club believed to be in heavily on Price tells Joel Sherman (New York Post) that the Rays “haven’t pushed hard yet” and he wouldn’t be surprised if Price is still with Tampa Bay when the season starts.

Sure, they may be a match.

Some guy named Larry, think Rev may remember what his prior Espn handle was. That guy seems to think he's the expert on everything over there

Tough choice really, Kendrys is younger and he does have solid power but he isn't much of an improvement in OBP than Cruz. Then again he also does cost a first round pick and he's not going to give that much value considering he's a strict DH and an emergency 1B option in my opinion.

It would depend on what they're asking for really.

It's nothing but butt hurt over not signing McCann. Bennie is convinced that JD cannot sign a top flight free agent. Not even sure what the fuck that means, but he just says it over and over.

He could haved signed McCann the money was in line, he wasn't going to give 5 years full NT because it blocks Alfaro
details bennie, details
