I didn't even know and pay attention to ESPN message boards til about 2012 when I decided to create an account at work because I was bored and didn't feel like doing my tasks that moment lol. But make no mistake I have been a die hard sports fan since I remember having a conscience.

I don't believe they knew he required a season ending surgery. They wouldn't have given him that money otherwise. That's pretty messed up on his part. They knew he had that neck problem, but they gave him money in good faith that he would be able to play that season.

I think the Colts were directly involved in all aspects of his injuries, including diagnosis and any surgical requirements, but even if they werent...that's why you perform physicals.

The Jays aren't going to trade EE without someone completely overpaying. He's extremely productive and is under a very team friendly deal

Why sign a starter to trade a starter? Even if we landed Tanaka, that would give us darvis, holland, tanaka, Harrison, Perez....all signed to long term, team friendly deals.

Any team trading for a young talented MLB starting pitcher would probably have intentions of competing and wouldn't give up MLB level talent, which would be the only reason to trade Dutch.

Keep the young inexpensive talented rotation together and trade prospects from the farm or a player like Ogando.

I don't know how likely they are to get Tanaka with every team in baseball able to deal with him on a contract basically. It would probably depend on whether or not he and Darvish get along or not. Uehara was said to have not liked Darvish very well and if Tanaka and Darvish were major rivals or didn't get along it might deter Tanaka wanting to sign with Texas. Just speculating not trying to get my hopes up of landing him in the case we don't

Here is why it's a dumb trade.

EE is cheap and provides insane value because of his cheapness. Guys that DH and still put up that much value are rare, so Texas would have to trade similar value. Buckel/Moreland/Ogando/Sardinas is not similar value. Derek Holland and Martin Perez however are.

now that makes some sense although i think JD would work angles where we would not give up either
