He would be a number one pick if he had played college ball.

From what I gather, Milwaukee wants a big in either Embiid or Randle and both Orlando and Philly want Wiggins and/or Parker.

The Lakers could very well end up with Exum if they get a top 5 pick.

Wiggins IMO has a lot to learn still, Iv'e watched him play this season & most games he looks lost or doesn't want the pressure on him & will commit stupid turnovers all game long. I'm not fond of him at all, Exum is way better & explosive, dude is sick & I see that clutch gene in him.

Right now its a toss up between Exum and Embiid for me.

But i'm not going to say no to Wiggins or Parker. Or even Randle or Gordon.

Besides he wants to play for the Lakers and where have you heard that before? The answer is every player on the current roster. Why would Mitch bring a deer-in-the-headlights dude in versus a killer dude like both Embiid or Exum with Exum threatening to sit out a year if he gets drafted by somebody else to just play for the Lakers. For me, it's the latter rather than anyone else!

Yep, in a recent ESPN Radio interview, he stated he emphatically wants to play for the Lakers and would sit out a year to do just that.

Will have to be through trade then. I don't think we have many future picks left.

Question: Word is that the Lakers are interested in Exum and he's made his feeling about the Lakers pretty clear.

If the Lakers get the #1 pick, do they take Exum?

Even over a big like Embiid or Parker?

Not sure I would over Embiid or Parker. I love bigs. A frontcourt of Embiid and Love would be sick. Parker is about as NBA-ready of player as you'll find in this draft. I would take Exum over Wiggins at this point. I don't watch enough college basketball to know what I'm talking about though :noidea:

Normally, I'd be inclined to agree with taking a big. But I'm pretty much sold on Exum and there's something to be said for a guy wanting to be a Laker as bad as he seems to.

I think Wiggins has pretty good upside, but if memory serves, he was being touted as the next Lebron. I haven't seen that in the few times that I've watched him.

my thinking on the matter would lean towards lakersrule's opinion. there aren't usually many bigs who can run the floor and hustle like Embiid, and him and Love together would do some damage. still, i love the way this Exum kid thinks and i can't deny the kid's got some very nice potential...

this draft's gonna be interesting. guess we'll know what the FO feels about it soon enough...

I'll be happy with either Embiid or Exum!

Only issue I have at the moment is D'Antoni is hell-bent on giving Nash starts (when he is healthy) and with him earning over $9m next year I don't know where Exum would be in the PG pecking order.

Best case scenario, D'Antoni fucks off and Nash gracefully retires.

Shaqdaddy, there was a recent article on Yahoo Sports indicating that Nash and Kobe will probably not return this year. Nash is simply done and he is getting the message slowly that his body can no longer handle the rigors of basketball for any length of measurable time at the pro level. I am expecting a retirement of some nature toward the end of the season and so are many more people including the Lakers.

Looks like Embiid is already having problems with his back, he might not play for the big 12 tournament. Hhhhmm!! Exum is looking more & more like the best choice for the Lakeshow, we don't need a big man that's going to have injury issues IMO.

D'Antoni says that it's doubtful Nash plays again next season. He says the conversation he's been having with him is: "There are 23 games left, we're not going to make the playoffs. So, what's the objective in taking minutes from young guys that we're trying to develop?"

Next season or this season?

If Nash retires we get quite a bit of cap room back!

As I understood it from the article, it's for this season. As for next season, I expect that Nash will exhaust every possible option to get back on the court (and I don't blame him). I hope that if it just isn't going to happen, that he goes ahead and retires early enough for his salary to not count against the cap.

However, if he can get back on the court and be effective, then let him go out on his terms because short of signing Lebron in FA, they aren't going to be contending next year anyway.
