Not sure if anyone has looked ahead at the Lakers remaining schedule, but it is brutal. I don't see them winning more than 6 games the rest of the way. Most of their remaining games are against +.500 teams. With a couple new players and more coming back from injuries, the lineups will continue to be in flux. The Lakers are going to end up with a top 3 pick.

Yea Iv'e been paying attention to the Lakers schedule. :agree: it's going too get pretty bad here soon.

Los Angeles Lakers 2014 Schedule - Lakers Home and Away - ESPN

Lakers will move up in the draft pick after these tough games IMO. right now Lakers are 29.2% chance of a top 3 pick & 8.8% of landing the 1st pick. #TeamTank

I like that draft tracker. Good little site. The Boston v Utah game could be interesting. Need boston to win a few more games.

story up on lakers nation saying lakers aren't as interested in Carmelo...as they are in kevin love after next season...and make a run at Durant in 2016. Durant might be a hard pull to see him leaving westbrook and ibaka. but should they not win any rings together before then.. lakers have a shot. kobe would come off books then so it could work out

TJF, I doubt if Durant is interested in LA. He is a pretty loyal guy and I see him finishing his career at OKC. No, I think they get Love and the rest will come from the draft, undrafted rooks, and the D league.

They'll talk to Melo this offseason. Just like they'll talk to lebron too. I fully expect a good player to join us this summer, maybe just not those guys though. With a healthy Kobe and a top 3 draft pick we'll have a pretty good season next year. Mitch will wield his magic wand again.

As long as the Short Buss let's Mitch do his fricken job, we'll be fine. He intervenes, up sh*t creek with no paddle! :gaah:

I quite like what Mitch did with the Steve Blake trade. Cleared up a couple million bucks and gave two young guys the chance to prove themselves.

In a way it almost confirmed the teams intentions of tanking.

I think the Lakers are more likely to get Westbrook than Durant.

I'm not interested in getting Embiid so long as Dantoni is there. I want Parker, although I haven't completely given up on Wiggins. As for Westbrook and Durant, I have a theory, that I'm just waiting to see about before I take a stance on it...and that theory is that Westbrook is going to indirectly ballhog his way to getting 1 of those 2 out of OKC. The key is that they can't win a title in the next few years, otherwise we have no chance. It's pie in the sky thinking, but we'll see what happens...

As for the tank....our ceiling is the 4 seed(3 at best). Milkwaukee and Philadelphia is on a collision course for the title...

This could still get us Parker, Wiggins, or a top 2 PG!

:suds:

It will certainly get us that potential future superstar. This will be an important decision for the front office for the future success of the team. I don't think we could go wrong with Parker, Embiid, Exum, or Wiggins.

Agreed. Match any of these guys with KLove and another stud, we should be making noise again. For me, it's Kevin Love or bust!

The Lakers organisation, even with Jim at the helm, know how to draft well. No doubt in my mind they're planning and preparing for it now. I see the guy we get this year being a star - someone we can enjoy for years to come!

No doubt. Start developing the young stud, sign K-Love in 2015, and add the third piece in 2016. Hopefully hold on to some of the current roster (some solid role players on current roster), upgrade the coach, and the Lakers will be right back in contention.

Jim Buss did want and draft Bynum. He's not totally incapable. It will be hard to screw up a top pick in this year's draft.
