But, But the Sooners sit at #93 on the SOS chart!!!

quality of the team is not measured by SOS. That just measure the quality of your opponents.

Too much time out in the sun does things to a person, over a long time period.

I looked at ND's schedule. You are right, there isn't one true gimme.

They should be heavily favored vs Rice and Purdue, but not really gimme cupcake games.

Purdue may be considered such, but with in state rivalries strange things can happen.

Rice returns 14 starters from a team that won 10 games in CUSA. They aren't great by any means but they should still be a top 50 team like they were last year. Purdue is going to be much better than last year and might get bowl eligible. If the BCS still existed I think ND would have the #1 SOS at seasons end.

I understand. Are you saying that Bama didn't have a "quality" team last year? The Sooners #93 beat Bama #95 last season. If the quality of your opponents are measured (SOS) from last year, then that doesn't tell us a lot about how "good" the SEC was last year, as Bama play within their conference this year.

haha. A schedule is not by definition made by one game.
Well then explain it to me. The Sooners beat Bama and Okie Lite beat Miss State last season. Why is Bama SOS at #95, when they play in the "so called" tough SEC.

Oklahoma has nothing at all to do with Alabama SoS this year and vice versa.

Our schedule is #95 because:

1. The NCAA method is crap.
2. Our schedule sucks anyway.

Has a lot to do with their out of conference schedule. WVU, Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss along with an FCS school is about as bad as you can get. Add to the fact their two east games are Tennessee and Florida who both were bad last year and it's no surprise they are as low as they are. And the SEC at least imo will take a step back this year in terms of dominance. I think it'll still be the #1 conference however.

OU doesnt play Bama this year, so I have no idea why you think that should influence this years projected SOS

What??? The SOS is "based" on a team's opponent from last year!!! Bama (SOS #95) plays "most" of the teams in the SEC this year. That tells me quite a bit about the strength of the SEC last year. IMO this SOS is all bullshit.

He doesn't have the slightest clue how it works, he just wants reasons to hate on teams.

You have an opinion that something is bullshit, when you are incapable of even grasping the basic concept behind it?

Seems legit.

The basic concept behind a teams SOS, is the won/loss record (last season) of all the opponents that team will play this year. In Bama's case they are ranked at #95. It's still bullshit!!
