I'm sorry, but ramming a guy's head into the dasher is not a hockey play...

I mean he's the dude's GM so it's not shocking that he'd stick up for him.

Hell, Doug Wilson flew to NY with Raffi for his playoffs hearing last year...

Technically, I guess it's a hockey play because everyone was wearing skates and on the ice and trying to play hockey or something... but it's not something that's supposed to happen out there. /shrug

You can still stick up for him and criticize his actions on that particular play though - Something along the lines of "Max Lapierre is a valuable member of the St. Louis Blues and plays the game with a high level of intensity. That said, he needed to make a better choice at that particular moment. While we support Max, at the same time we need to eliminate these types of hits from our game".

This^^^^ The GM doesn't need to throw him under the bus just do like dash said. We'll work with the guy but he needs to tone down his aggression at times.

If the Blues GM said that we need to eliminate stupid plays and meatheaded players, then how is he going to trade Backes, Max, Oshie, etc.

Baby steps - Let's start by trying to eliminate the meathead plays before we focus on getting rid of the meathead players. Of the three listed though, I would take Backes and Oshie in a heartbeat on the Flames (Lapierre can go jump in the lake for all I care).

If we give the refs the ability to do this to the meatheads:

Perhaps stupid play will stop.

Annnd the suspension is confirmed.

Lapierre will serve only FIVE GAMES for that hit on Boyle.

Way to show some brass, NHL...[/sarcasm]

One thing's for sure, though: It will make things interesting when the two teams have their rematch.
November 29th, people: LET THERE BE BLOOD.

I thought it would be more. When does Kaleta get an answer on his appeal ?
