Rangers are interested in R.a Dickey. That would be a really nice pick up. Even though hes old hes been pretty damn good pitcher.

No it wouldn't. He's a knuckleballer who got lucky this year. Knuckleballers are prone to the home run ball. Add rbia to that equation and = bad idea.

not really wanting dickey, but would not complain about getting him

since 2010 he has pitched over 170 innings (200+ last 2 years) and hasnt had an era over 3.30 (been sub 3 2 of those 3 years)

the reason he has been successful with the mets his they let him throw his fastball and other pitches with the knuckle ball.......

with the rangers they would only let him throw the knuckle because of arm injury history

if we get him i wouldnt be upset,he wont be expensive they are predicting about 12 mil a year for 2 years

Aside from being drafted and not having the ulnar collateral ligament, I'm not aware of any significant arm injury history with Dickey

He pitched through a torn abdominal muscle last year, but thats the only thing I could find

Don't know if I'd be interested in him much beyond this year, but I wouldn't be upset if we acquired him somehow, especially if that deal included Ike Davis

mlb network is reporting that the Rangers have signed Soto to a 1 year deal pending physical.

also they are reporting that Profar is being shutdown for the rest of the Dominican league because of forearm tenderness

Yeah, i wouldnt want a guy whos been a cy young winner plus being very good the last 3 years

Try reading my post and responding to that with some logic. Knuckleballer + rbia = bad combination.

You're a little late to the show bud.

I had hoped Charlie Hough was the last knuckleballer I would ever see in a Rangers uniform..ever.

FYI, Hamilton is at the meetings. Conventional wisdom suggests a high profile FA like Hamilton doesn't show up unless they're getting in the ballpark of getting close to a deal. Could be nothing, but its interesting.
