I think Matthews is more likely to go in the second, but Kap has the requisite QB trait - for better or worse....
We'll see. I still have a prophecy that needs to be realized!

Watkins is being overrated by the media. Not saying he isn't a great prospect, but he's commonly being called the best WR since AJ Green in 2011, but I think Justin Hunter was a better prospect. And so is Brandin Cooks. And Michael Floyd is probably better than any of them.
In fact, Jordan Matthews is probably a better fit for the Niners' offense considering how well he can catch the ball in coverage (Kaepernick) and how well he blocks.
Cosell said Watkins is the complete package and is far and way the best WR. so he saw a lot more stuff on film besides screens.
for Mathews, it FELT like he had to point out the high number of screens. why would you even mention that if there was enough of other things on film? why didn't he mention it for ANY of the other WR's?
My take is that you have to mention the number of screens with Matthews to in part explain away his numbers. He had a lot of receptions and a lot of yards in the toughest defensive conference in the country. Pointing out the large number of screens helps to explain why he isn't a clear first round pick despite those numbers. I can't speak to specifically what else Cosell saw on film, but I'm sure Matthews had some success running other routes.
I'm starting to wonder if all this move up talk holds any weight or if it's just media speculation. I do agree that it makes sense for us to move up and I've been calling for it, but I don't see them letting the world know of their intentions.
It's the obvious speculation given the fact no more than 3-5 picks (of 11) have a serious shot of making the opening day roster.
I think Crimsoncrew was trying to post this but posted this in the wrong thread before.
49ers GM Reveals Criteria for NFL Draft WRs
Haha. Not the wrong thread. One of the Hawks fans and I were arguing about whether Baalke should get credit for 2010 or not.
Here are all the players who came in for a visit. I didn't know they brought in Seantrel Henderson & Aaron Lynch.
