Letang re-signs with Pitt eight years $58m. Pretty anticlimactic ending to that situation.

I figured they'd get it worked out.
Really curious to see what the Sharks do today. I can see them packaging a couple of the 2nd's to move up...maybe end up with 2 first and a second? Either way, I don't see them just staying where they are. Figure they have to make some moves.

Sounds like Phoenix is close to re-signing Mike Smith. 6 years, almost $6M a year. Makes me love Niemi's deal even more.

We'll see if they move up to pick someone they specifically targeted. Last time they moved up to take someone, they scored (Logan). Doug has some ammo this season.

I was very surprised last season Doug went with a prospect in Europe with their 1st rounder. I hope that means the the scouting department has really expanded its coverage and the Sharks draft board is deeper now.

@DarrenDreger: San Jose may add a depth forward. Hearing Cal Clutterbuck as a possibility for the Sharks. #TSN

Yeah, that would be a nice repeat. We all know Wilson isn't afraid to move up or down.
I think everyone was surprised they took Hertl last season, but he sounds like he's going to be good.

LeBrun says Tyler Kennedy is being made available and that he could be the type of forward the Sharks are looking for.

Raffi and Cal would be a massive headache for teams haha and some fun to watch from our side.

Totally agree. Adding Raffi gave the Sharks that element they were missing. Teams were not as comfortable playing against the Sharks. Cal would add more of the same, and he can chip in offensively too, just like Torres does.

Would love that!!

Raffi-Pavs-Clutterbuck is a very nice 3rd line.

I would hope they would play Torres and Clutterbuck on different lines. If Havlat is out for a significant amount of time Torres would probably go back on a line with Couture and Marleau.

True, Raffi played well with them.
I'm expecting nothing from Havlat this year. I'd be thrilled if he could come back for the last 25 games or so, and actually stay healthy. Not holding my breath.

Sharks have aquired Tyler Kennedy from Pitt for a 2nd rounder 50th overall.

If he can get back to the form he had two and three years ago it ends up being a fair trade. I would have preferred they give up the 58th for him but it's not that big of a deal.
