Per McKenzie the Oilers are trying to move their 1st and 2nd round picks (#7, #37, #56 overall) for immediate roster help.

Boyle & Marleau for all 3. Maybe kick in a mid-D man. :suds:

Pavelski+2nd rounder for a #7 overall pick is tempting. That would free up 4M for dougie to go shopping and land a cornerstone player. If the oilers really are shopping, the sharks could play their cards right and have the "refresh" done at this draft. They already have 4 picks in the 1st 2 rounds, so adding one or two more could give them 6 legit prospects. 2 or 3 years from now, just when the big two are winding down, the sharks would have a glut of 21 and 22 year old studs in the system to take over.

I love pavs but he is gunna get 5+ as a UFA next year easy, and I dont want dougie giving him huge money and term, not to mention he'll be 30 next summer when that new deal would kick in so the decline would be coming shortly.

Personally, I wouldnt mind the sharks stocking up this summer on picks. Should be interesting...

If he could pull that off I'd be impressed, doubtful he could sign lecavillier as a replacement but it would be cool if he did

yeah, if they bought out burish and traded pavs, dougie would have some 8-10M to play with depending on how long havlat is on LTIR. That kind of money could land vinny and then some.

Pavs+2nd for #7 pick.
sing vinny to 3 years 15M. (think he might be gettable for 5M per?)
Sign stalberg at 3 years 9M.

That would be nice...

Jumbo-Couch-Lecavalier is a pretty amazing 1-2-3 at Center. Then they still have marleau, burns, torres and stalberg on the wings with potentially havlat for the PO's and hope that either sheppard, wingels, galiardi, or hertl can step into a top 9 role. Its a bit risky, but I feel that would give the sharks the kind of depth needed to compete while adding a central piece of the future.

Vinny is slow and a major defensive liability. Sharks have a better chance of winning with Pavelski as 3rd line center over Vinny.

Hardly anything UFA wise helps the sharks lol
Why do you hate Clarkson so much?

I don't hate Clarkson I just think he's going to be incredibly over paid. He's a $3m player who's going to get $5m+. Also, the re-signing of Torres eliminates the need for him.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: A long list of teams have inquired on Lecavalier and San Jose is among the teams that will keep tabs on that situation...

When did the Sharks turn into Toronto Maple Leafs West? They've been linked to just about every name rumored available.

You'd think they would pick a bigger market than San Jose to troll...

Well, if they are right I give you the San Jose Sharks 2013-2014 line up:

Marleau - Couture - Ryan
Perron - Thornton - Burns
Torres - Lecavalier - Hertl
Desjardins - Burish - Wingels

Vlasic - Braun
Stuart - Letang
Irwin - Demers

Niemi
Stalock

I'm assuming LTIR. Best to just keep him there as he'll probably reinjure himself coming off LTIR anyways...

Well crap, I have to change that line up now. Apparently Thornton is headed to Toronto for Gardiner, their 1st, and a prospect.

Well Joe leaving is a little crazy but by the looks of it something is going to happen. Sounds like someone will be leaving for sure.

Too much smoke for there not to be a fire I guess.

I honestly wouldn't mind Gardiner. He's young and a very good left handed/left side puck moving dman which is something the Sharks could really use. I'm not sure at the cost of Thornton but he'd still be a nice player to get.

No way Edm would give up the #7 for Pavs & 2nd Rules... Edm is desperately lacking D & a goalie. Pavs isnt really what they are looking for... Send em Boyle
