Are the ball at Rutgers harder to catch? I realize it's New Jersey, but really?

Deep, where are you?

hye, i'll be glad to opine, hehe. but not sure which part you want me to address?

1. Crabtree panning out? have been a supporter up thru last season, while still feel he can be of use, no longer cling to him being a "#1 WR".

2. How WR's might look extra good in spread offenses? i've always said its not about their stats, so when you evaluate WR's from spread offenses, you still look for the skills such as catching/hands, route runnings, 'go after it' (ball awareness), ball security, etc.. the good thing is you have more film to evaluate.

3. Sanu as a prospect? you already know i don't profess to be a "draft-nik", i read stuff but don't "watch film". in general, i'm ok with his slower 40 time if the other skills make up for it.

btw - i AM for BPA and if its a WR, do it. however from what we know NOW, i'll say we don't draft one at 30th.

National Football Posts Mock Draft 5.0

Mostly makes sense but I can't believe he actually has Miami not only taking Matt Kalil but trading up with the Browns in order to do so.

I mean that's totally a good move on their part to blow the traded draft picks and the number 4 pick on an RT.

At least if they did that it would make our move for trading up for Davis to be an RT look far better.

PHP:
14. Dallas Cowboys: Alabama FS Dre Kirkpatrick
Some of the buzz coming out of the NFL Combine is that a number of NFL teams are now looking at Alabama DB Dre Kirkpatrick as the top safety prospect in the draft. Either way the Cowboys have needs still at both corner and safety and Kirkpatrick is the kind of versatile athlete that could play a big role at either spot.

I swear, I have been saying this for over 5 months now. I was saying if we lose Goldson, this is the guy I would have loved to target to replace him - but knew that he wouldn't have lasted that long (though I didn't exactly know where we would be selecting at that time). I really think S is his best position in the league. I feel the same for Stephen Gilmore. Both guys could be solid corners, but as safeties, could develop to be perennial pro bowlers.

What's the word on Chandler Jones?

That would be a curve ball pick in my book

Not impressed by him at all. Don't know why Mel would have him going to a 3-4 team like San Diego. Maybe as a DE? Don't think he'd hold the point well enough as a 3-4 DE. He's clearly a 4-3 LDE IMO.

Yeah Brian has him picked by NE and Bucky has us taking him.
The strength/weakness review ease my mind a lil but how is he a natural 5 technique at less than 250 lbs and 6'6"?? Thats almost Manny Lawson size. He'll be a project.
Now taking Poe would def be interesting!

Mock Drafts 2012: Cox enters top 10; Ingram falls to Jets

Brian Baldinger has grown on me over the years as an analyst. I still don't like his unorthodox mocks at times. Though he is a fine talent evaluator IMO.

Me and sick would be happy if this scenario were to happen.

Why not?! The guy will be a force in the league Sick as a rush linebaker. I read somewhere that he has longer arms than Tamba Hali. The guy has very good feet and quickness and raw power/strength to play LB in a 3-4. I really don't understand what you dislike about his game. Hali/Dumervil comparisons isn't far fetched at all IMO.

More than a couple of folks here last year said Aldon Smith was a reeeeeach too.

I'd go with the Fleendog over Hill in that situation, but I'm ok with Hill due to his upside (although it could take 3 seasons to reach that upside). I dig the Brooks pick.

It's not that I don't think he'll be any good, it's that I don't think he's top 10 material. I don't see what he has on a guy like Vinny Curry. In fact Curry might be the better OLB. Curry has more pass rush moves, longer arms & isn't playing on a defense with a bunch of future NFL players (lots of whom will be starters, some probably probowlers one day).

I just think there are a bunch of other prospects who will be better NFL players than Ingram (like Nick Perry for starters). I think he should go in the 30's, not the top 10.

Not too thrilled TBH... scary part is that could be a real scenario for us(where our targets are off by our pick)...

Rather go with Still in that case or Jenkins to some extent(enuff CBs IMO)
