He's a good find, Rey. Good size, and very good speed for a slot receiver - 4.35 forty.

That is a sad list indeed. I'd imagine our DB list must look just as bad.

I saw something on BGN earlier that said we're the only team that has not drafted a Pro Bowl DB (Safety or Corner) since 2003.

All right I'm breaking the WR talk and want to say I would love for the Eagles to take a shot at Skalski LB out of Clemson!
Something about this kid screams old school MLB!

Something this franchise hasn't had since Trotter, ( 1st time around Trotter)

Old school MLBs in today's NFL are like the plodding center in the NBA that can't switch on the perimeter to cover the three... they have a place but their effectiveness has been limited because of the emphasis on pass offenses.

Not that I have a problem with the old school MLB, but he better be real good in the pass game!

I thought TJ Edwards gave us some good reps as a rookie - and he is more of that thumper like Trotter was back in the day.

I thought Edwards played really well. And I believe moving forward he could very easily be the "Mike".
It would just be nice to have that hard hitting middle LB on 1st and 2nd downs to play the run and the screen game.
I know the kid out of Clemson is not a great cover guy, but the way a Nickel or Dime defense is used you could very easily rotate and end this vicious cycle of the Bradham's or who ever else they throw out there that get hurt all the time.

We know that LB has never been a priority position for this organization going back to the Reid days, but we simply need to get younger, faster, and more physical... it almost seems like we have to get one or two impact guys by accident for Schwartz and the rest to realize how important good LBs are to your defense... Bradham has been really good for us, but getting older, looks like injuries are starting to catch up with him and is going to drop off at some point. He may not even be back next year with an $8M team option that could be declined this off-season. Then what do we have? Gerry? We need better than that.

I'm not advocating we take one in the 1st round (unless by some miracle Simmons drops to us), but gradually the position needs to be made more of a priority moving forward.

They screwed up the way they jockeyed LJ Fort, and then lost him.

LJ was a Roseman addition, and Schwartz wanted to play Zach Brown over him. That shit needs to stop - major flub, these guys need to come together and agree on personnel and develop/play them accordingly. Roseman needs to stand up to Schwartz and Schwartz needs to keep his ego in check.

Someone to keep an eye on at the Senior Bowl and the combine (he should get an invite) - KYLE DUGGER, S from Division II Lenoir-Rhyne... 6'2" 225 with 4.4 speed and a 38" vertical... physical specimen that probably projects to WLB in the NFL. Aggressive and physical - has great special teams potential but can be a nice developmental guy for the back 7 at either SS or WLB (or the quasi-role that Jenkins plays in the defense)

LeGarrette Blount 2.0 - if Howard is not retained, I like him in the 4th-5th round to be the perfect power complement to Sanders... I'm interested to see how he tests at the combine.

Interesting prospect ... good shiftiness though the hole and balance for a Back his size. Going to find some "full" tape on him to see him other than highlights.

I saw that he is one of the fiercest RB in the draft. Maybe a "Beast Mode"?

The more I look at Howie’s past drafts the more I understand just how bad he is. Lurie should take away his draft room key and move him back down the hall.

I watched the first day of practices yesterday and I had this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that the Eagles were going to attempt to take another SC wide out with Pittman :L

Not in the 1st round. If that happens, Howie should be fired. Pittman s/b a 3rd or 4th round pick.
