It is now official. The Worcester Sharks are moving to San Jose. Next season they will play at SAP Center and then the plan is to move them to the new arena being built at Sharks ice for the 16/17 season.

Finally, some meaningful hockey at SAP.

Plus tickets are cheaper. If you havent seen a minor league hockey game before, I highly recommend it.

Worcester has signed Hobey Baker finalist Daniel Ciampini to an ATO. Ciampini finished 2nd in the NCAA in scoring with 24 goals and 50 points in 36 games.

Obviously potentially good news, but he is already 24 and will be 25 shortly after the start of next season. How much of his success comes from behind 5 years older than much of his competition. Seems kinda like your class smaller overager who dominates in juniors, but only as an overager, not as a normal ager. He also wasnt exactly dominating on his team. There was another guy, a few years younger who had the same numbers.

i guess its a no lose signing, but not sure I would look at this in the same light as a guy like Schultz.

Ciampini has signed an AHL level contract. He also had a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win today for Worcester.

2012 7th round pick Joakim Ryan out of Cornell has joined Worcester on a tryout contract. After missing much of the year due to injury Ryan finished with 1 goal and 13 assists in 23 games.

Danny O'Regan assisted on the GTG and scored the GWG in OT in their 1st round match up against Yale.

With Goldobin's season over in Finland he has been assigned to Worcester.

Goldobin had a goal and an assist tonight in his first game with Worcester. Worcester won the game 4-2.

I was also very impressed my Joakim Ryan in his first game with Worcester tonight. Very smooth and smart with the puck. He moved the puck really well and was solid defensively. By the 3rd period it was clear he was playing at a level above the competition.
