Worcester (9-8-1) crushed Portland yesterday 8-2. The line of Tarasov, Nieto, and Hamilton accounted for 5 of the goals. Combined they registered 11 points (Nieto-5, Tarasov-3, Hamilton-3), 18 shots, and were a +12 on the night.

Mike Brown has been placed on the IR to clear a roster spot for Hamilton. Both the Pavelski and Couture lines have been struggling a bit lately so it wouldn't surprise me if we saw those two with the same set up that started the year and Havlat in the PB for the Wild game.

More on the move west for the AHL

Regardless, the dominos are starting to fall in what looks like a five-team division, including the Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Flames, and Oilers.

The Oilers just announced their intentions to relocate their AHL affiliate currently in Oklahoma City. There is also talk that Vancouver, Phoenix, and Colorado have plans on joining the West division.

As for the AHL Sharks move, there is currently plans in place to add a fifth rink at Sharks ice that can seat 5000+. A lot of speculation that it is being built to be the home of the AHL team.

It is now official. The Worcester Sharks are moving to San Jose. Next season they will play at SAP Center and then the plan is to move them to the new arena being built at Sharks ice for the 16/17 season.
