Was probably holding out for a one way deal to give him a better chance at a call up. Looks like he settled for a higher AHL salary on a two way deal.

Worcester Sharks won their first preseason game against the Providence Bruins 2-1. Recap from Sharkspage speaks very highly of the play of Abetlshauser.

The spotlight was on Abeltshauser Friday and if last night was any indication teams are going to have to pay close attention to him because he was often times the best player on the ice for the WorSharks. Paired with Sena Acolatse most of the night Abeltshauser looked like a professional out there, something that many young players have an issue with early in the season as they settle in. Obviously this was just an exhibition game and Abeltshauser played against many guys that won’t be making the PBruins opening night roster, but those are the guys he needs to dominate over and he did.

Chris Tierney is off to a hot start for the OHL London Knights. He had two goals, including the game winner, and an assist tonight to give him 8 points (4g, 4a) in 5 games on the year.

Sean Kurlay opened up Miami (Ohio) collegiate season with 3 assists in a 6-2 win over Ohio state.

Mueller scored his first goal of the season tonight. Surprisingly through the first eight games of the season he has not been on the ice for an even strength goal against. Pretty good considering he's on a fairly weak Everett team.

Worcester lost it's first game of the year tonight 4-3 to Springfield.

Hayes, Livingston, Ried with goals. Tarasov with two assists. Sateri made 15 saves on 19 shots in the loss.

Some bad news out of last nights Worcester game. Tarasov had to be helped off the ice with an apparent leg injury after being boarded late in the 3rd period.
