I would take Wilson over Mark Rypien all day every day.
I don't think Wilson should be on this list.

I get the impression that the fellow who made the video wasn't alive when Rypien played. Seems like if he was he wouldn't have called the guy who won the year before Rypien "Jeff Hoe-stetler"

This guy was spot on. It almost feels like I ranked these guys myself.

He doesn't deserve to be anywhere near #1. Even his short career doesn't merit him that high up on the list. I am not sure he should even be on it at all.

Isn't he #10? I thought Williams was #1

What exactly is the criteria for this list?

Is it how the QB is thought of by the public and the media or the actual numbers that he produces?

Say what you want about Flacco but he has 4 post seasons averaging over 90 qb rating and 2 over 100. The year he won it he threw 11 tds and 0 ints. His regular season numbers while not Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning esque is still good. Inconsistent from year to year but still overall good.

Same with Eli...except he won 2 and was pretty spectacular all around in both superbowl runs.

Russell..I almost feel like he's thrown in there to stir the pot otherwise it's laughable that he's considered

Other QBs more deserving

Ken Stabler (Raiders)
- Career 194 tds 222 ints

Jim Plunkett
- Career 164 tds 198 ints (67.5 QB rating career)

Doug Williams
- Career 69 qb rating and 49 % completion percentage

Bullshit. Plunkett was better than all of them put together. Not even close.

Zero pro-bowls and all-pros. 67.5 career QB rating. 34 more Ints than TDs. Never threw for 3000 yards in a season. Yeah, he was a real stud.

Do you take into account the changes in the game or just mix all eras together in your fat fingered spoon?

Of course. Do yourself a favor and look up his numbers and compare them to his peers before going any further with this.

An example.... Namath threw for 4000 in a year when Plunkett was still in high school. A record not broken until hey went to 16 games, btw. He averaged > 3000 yards his first 5 seasons ... a mark Plunkett never reached once. That's also something no other QB had ever done before or after until Marino. 5 pro bowls and 1 all pro to Plunkett's zero. Namath is often cited as one of the most overrated QBs ever. Plunkett couldn't carry his jock in his prime.

So that's 1.

Do you want me to do them one at a time or combine them all in a single post ?

There are at least 5 guys on that list better than Jim Plunkett.... maybe more.

Craig Morton too.

Morton never won a SB as a starter, although he did QB the 70 Boys and 77 Broncos to the big show.

Well, that was a bluff. I don't feel like keying it all in. It's getting late here. Look them up. Or you can just take my word for it that they all are/were more accomplished regular season QBs than Plunkett with the possible exception of Wilson due to his short career so far. But he clearly is and will continue to be a better QB than Plunkett barring catastrophic injury.

Wilson is a game manager. If he ever (he inevitably will) gets hurt and can't run, he will be proven as such. Goodnight

"No one in the NFL has as many come from behind wins as Wilson over the last 3 years. He may not be asked to win games single handed through the air as a normal game plan, but when asked he has done so with flying colors."

Well except for that interception from the one yard line.

I had forgotten how many bad QBs have actually won a SB. I agree with the list except for Flacco.

Wilson has been in the league 3 years. Made the playoffs 3 times, won a SB and lost a SB. That's pretty good for your first 3 years. As for being a game manager, that's part of the job. As is running and throwing which he's pretty good at as well. 28 teams in the league would trade a franchise player for him today.
And I'm not a Seattle fan.

That is unfair because what makes him valuable is his ability to run at a moments notice, improvise, and make something happen.
That;s what he does.

Yeah he is 10. I thought it was a countdown. Im still not too sure if they were intended to be ranked. When I first watched it thinking it was a countdown, seeing Wilson even on the list made me laugh. I mean, only making it to 2 SBs if your first 3 years in the league? Pfft! He sucks!
