Any time a team wins primarily with a dominant D and dominant run game...folks will always question the QB

^^^^This

I go back and forth on how good Wilson is. Top 1/3 in the league right now. He is never asked to do much because the rest of the team is so good. That is not to say he can't, just that he hasn't had to.

This all depends on what you are considering when you tag the QB as being one of the worst. Is this for their whole career, that one season or the actual SB game? Consider the two Redskins QBs. Rypien certainly didn't have a great career but was outstanding during that entire championship season.

Doug Williams didn't even do that well during the season leading up to the SB (although his overall career is not bad especially considering that he spend most of his career on the Bucs). However - his SB game (and 2nd QTR in particular) is some of the best QB play in the history of the SB.

The guy has to be going by career and more specifically QB stats. Wilson has 2 SB trips, 1 ring, 3 years in. That is successful. What he does not have is the 4000+ yard seasons and 80 bajillion TDs.

Listing Wilson in the top 10 isn't bad as long as we're talking a player's overall career and TOTAL Super Bowl wins (which is kind of meh considering Wilson is so young, but hey). Outside of that I would agree. There's only been 49 super bowls and a lot of amazing/great QBs were repeat winners and HOFers... Only 31 QBs have ever won a Super Bowl so a top 10 encapsulates roughly 1/3 so not really sure it says much.

Wilson is also kind of a weird one. He didn't really have to do much that Super Bowl but still played well.
He doesn't deserve to be anywhere near #1. Even his short career doesn't merit him that high up on the list. I am not sure he should even be on it at all.

Yeah, Wilson shouldn't be on the list. Guy's a pretty good QB.

If they were going by Super Bowl performance, Big Ben would be top 3 if not #1 for XL but add in his 2nd and that saves his ass.

BS that Wilson is included in that group.

No other QB in NFL history has won as many games as Wilson in their first 3 years.

He also lost a Super Bowl, considering that two in three years is not a complaint but an achievement. If I were starting a team from scratch, Wilson might be my first QB pick (him and Luck are a toss up).

If that is true then it is ridiculous to place any current QB with 5 yrs or less experience (like Wilson) on that list. Oh well - wouldn't be the first piece of worthless info coming from the media.

Harsh list seeing as how some are still playing. Anyway ,switch out Russell Wilson with Jim Plunkette and it is a better list. Wilson is way too young to be included IMO. I didn't listen to the audio. Was this rated or just random?
If so Dilfer needs to be number 1.

That's effin harsh when you consider Wilson has led Seattle to 2 Super-Bowls in his first 3 years in the league... Hell he came seconds away from the NFC title game his rookie season...

"Russell Wilson is an excellent game manager, but he is not a superstar and probably never will be."

I literally laughed out loud at that. Just the way he said it was hilarious. I agree he isn't quite a superstar, but it is too early to say that he never will be one. Honestly though, I don't see this list as an insult. I wish I were on that list.

Actually you are right that Wilson was #10 but hearing what they said about each player made me think he was #1. It seems like a countdown but Wilson shouldn't even be on the list no matter. I don't think Eli deserves to be on it either.

I agree with Dilfer, but Flacco and Wilson do not belong on this list.

Oh look, another thread meant to troll up Seahawk fans. How unusual for this board eh? :L

No one in the NFL has as many come from behind wins as Wilson over the last 3 years. He may not be asked to win games single handed through the air as a normal game plan, but when asked he has done so with flying colors.

How can anyone read a statement about 'and he probably never will be' without totally discrediting the person who made it. Had he just left it in the present tense it's just an opinion. Adding that makes him a fucking clown.

I agree with many of them but the #1 is really going to piss of a certain fan base.

Then you are as big of an imbecile as the moron that did that piece.
1. Eli has 2 SB rings, that's not a fluke
2. Flacco has 1 8-8 season out of 7, 3 AFCCG's, 5 straight playoff runs along with a 6th last yr, a SB win and MVP.
3. Namath is still revered as of the best of his time
4. Wilson has a SB and just came 1 fluke play from a back to back Lombardi.
5.This idiot must be 12 yrs old and never heard of Jim Plunkett etc..
6. Let me start my own list of dumbest reporters of all time, and there is your winner in action.

He really has his finger on the pulse of his story !!

This would have been a much better read and subsequent conversation if the list was the "The top 10 worst SB performances by a winning QB". With statistics to backup or shoot down most of the eventual arguments it would have far less objective than this tripe.

Exactly... No way should Eli be on that list... I mean common ...
