I didn't though. I asked for a team that won a cup where the leading scorers had around 50 points. You listed 0 teams that did that. Generously, I'll give you the Bruins, because they were legitimately pretty close.

Giroux factored in on 40% of the Flyers goals last year. 3rd in the league. Have fun replacing that with 50 point caliber offensive players.

I can understand wanting to move Giroux. But if you do, you have to at least get a guy with star potential back for him, if not an established star. The Caps had OV, the Pens have Crosby, the Hawks have Kane. Between them they won the last 4 cups, 5 of the last 6, and 7 of the last 10. If you count Kopitar as a star, which I think Giroux is the only player of his caliber or better on the Flyers (or in the prospect pool), it's 9 of the last 10. Hockey is more of a team sport than most others, but you still need that focal point. The guy that other teams game plan around. The guy that even with all that pressure, finds a way to produce and frees up the rest of the team to play weaker competition.

By '50 pt player', I mean the caliber of player that puts up 50 points in a good season. Not strictly speaking a guy that scored 50 points in a given season.

Great so we are still 28th out of 31 teams so what if we dont have Gee. It doesnt matter if he scored and is in on 41% of their goals. $41% of a team who is 28th in the league isnt good enough to warrant a pass here so please stop overrating a player who has lead this team no where.

Well we've won 2 games without him since March. If that's the kind of hockey team you want, then let's trade Giroux. I know I'd love a team that went 2-54. All aboard the trade Giroux train!!
