All you did was stretch the value to an extreme. The Patriots traded away a 32 year old guard for a 4th round pick, not close to a 24 year old WR for a 6th round pick. That's just being disingenuous.

And the Patriots are still better off since Mankins left than they would have been with Mankins. So how did they not win the deal?

Because I firmly believe the offensive line would not have gotten steamrolled if Mankins was there. And there was a hell of a lot more than Von Miller's edge rushes that killed them that day.

That trade cost them the 2015 Lombardi trophy.

Do we need more evidence this was a great deal for the Yankees than the anger coming from notorious Yankee haters like BF/Cereal and Snoogins?

I warned you guys, you had your chance, now the empire is back, for a long long time

I think it's a good deal for the Yankees. But per usual, not because of some mystical power attributed to Cashman but because the Yankees are uniquely able to swallow salary dumps without blinking an eye. The Sox and most other teams in the league try to keep an eye on the luxury tax.

He knows, we are at the bitter Red Sox fan stage of this discussion

You have a really hard time staying on topic without mud-slinging.

Two weeks ago, Boston fans were all racists. Last week, we all throw our former players under the bus as soon as they leave (because we said Kelly Olynyk was a limited player). Today we are all bitter for questioning the awesomeness of a trade that is very open to be questioned.

It's just sports and it's just a message board, friend.

The Sox my balls

The Sox have unloaded their system and have one untouchable guy left and it's why they can't swing a deal

It has zero zero zero to do with taking on money

The opinion around the game about Cashman is the same opinion Dirt has, and the opposite of yours

Another "Boston is right, everyone else is wrong" example

What is the "opinion around baseball" about Xander Bogaerts?

Most would say "one of the best young shortstops in the league"

What were the words you used a few pages ago? Completely awful?

Fair enough, athough the Boston racist opinion is not exclusive to Dirt

But gods honest truth, the only negativity from the Yankee end of this deal I've heard is coming out of the Boston fan base

Actually, just you and BF and BF doesn't count on Yankee matters

LOL. Yeah that's it. The Sox simply had no players that could interest the White Sox for Robertson, Kahnle, and Frazier.

If you don't recognize that this was a packaged salary dump, than I don't know what to tell you. I think you should probably take comfort in getting Kahnle in the mix and just leave it at that.

I'd say there's a better chance that not doing the trade would have cost them the 2016 Super Bowl and possibly beyond, than it did cost them the 2015 Super Bowl.

Unloaded their system? By putting guys on the big league roster?

Other than first base, the Red Sox big league club is a product of the farm system.

Did the Yankees unload their system by putting Judge and Sanchez on the big league team?

What is your problem?

Can you give me Xander Boegarts numbers this season and we could decide together on this year, and possibly the impact of having Dustin Pedroia and not Big Papi batting behind him

Yeah, that was all the GM. Not the $5 billion that they outspent the competition with over that time.
