And if the think the Red Sox didnt make such a deal because of finances the way they throw money around, you drink a lot of the Kool Aid

Whining over payroll from Boston, you got a pair of balls

You team is paying Allen Craig and Rusney Castillo 22 million this season

Just the facts, ma'am. From the stuff I've read the sox are willing to do one or two moves but want to stay under the CBT. This ain't fantasy baseball.

Dont put Xander Boegarts in the class of Lindor or Machado

And yes, people around baseball have said its pretty mysterious that Machado sucks this season
Xander has been better than Lindor this year

Unfortunately for you, my feelings on Cashman echo that of people that know a lot more baseball than you and i, and also echo the feelings of non Yankee and Red Sox fans, as evidenced by a thread started here last year

Brian Cashman is ranked highly by people who know baseball?

Anywhere I've ever read was words to the effect of, "He took over another GMs core and then did what Steinbrennar told him to do in the 90s and then has done nothing but disregard the draft and throw mountains of mud at the wall in the years since. Just barely enough mud stuck in 2009 and has been a disaster since"

I don't think I've ever met a Yankees fan who thought Cashman to be anything other than a warm body in that role.

What about your feelings about Brady? Do those echo people who know a lot about football, or not so much?

Is it possible you just like to highly rate guys working/playing for your favorite teams and low ball guy who don't?

And from what YOUVE read, you also know the Yankees will be getting under and staying under the CBT, its been their mission for a few years now....

To be fair on Cashman, he was the assistant GM before he took over the role. So it's not like he didn't have a big hand in building that excellent core of the late-90s.

Ive called Rob Gronkowski the greatest TE ive ever seen, BB the greatest coach ever, Edelman, noting but praise, many many other guys in that organization....Mookie Betts one of my favorite players in the game

Because to most of New England (not really you exactly) only the opinion of Tom Brady matters, the opinion of anyone or anything else on that team, goes ignored

You know that this is True.............He's the only guy on that team i dont hold in the same regard as the general public, but he's the only one that matters

they lost because brady threw 2 picks. its what he does in big postseason games. see bowl, super. he was sacked 4 times not a huge number. add to that they ran a total of 17 times (if you count bradys 3) to denvers 30. bolden got 5 carries lol.

They ran 17 times for what, 26 yards?

I wonder if the offensive line had some impact there.

He threw two picks because the Broncos pass rush was in his face 1.5 seconds after the snap for 80% of the game.

4 sacks isn't a huge number?

Have you seen the hurry/hit/sack numbers for that game? It was the singular most pressured game Brady played in his entire career.

Literally in his entire career. Look it up.

Yeah, I don't think this guy knows how to look at stats.

He tried telling me earlier that Jackie Bradley Jr. being much much worse this year than last was a big part of the reason the Red Sox aren't scoring more runs this year.

Youre lying through your teeth...Youve never heard that anywhere Snoogins (lets stop pretending now), its only you reading your own posts

Cashman worked in the organization during the dynasty years before being promoted to the GM position...He was an assistant GM........Guys dont get promoted in any walk of life unless they earned it....To act like his fingerprints werent on the dynasty years, is just ignoring common sense

JBJ was an MVP candidate around this time last season

To be fair, you're ice-skating uphill if you try and argue against his resume.

You can give all the credit in the world to Rob Gronkowski. Brady's got 4 rings without him.

Same for Edelman. 3 rings without him.

You can say all you want about the Bruschi/Vrabel defenses of years gone by. 2 rings without them.

Everyone likes to point to legendary drives like Montana vs the Bengals or Elway vs the Browns.

Brady going 92 yards, down 8 with 4 mins to go vs the Falcons trumps them all.

You're throwing punches at ocean waves at this point if you try to dispute his resume.

one sack a quarter avg vs a VERY good defense...i'll take it.
denver is the one place brady routinely plays like ass
it was 17 for 44 rushing
edelman was barely a factor, they shadowed him. 7 for 53 from the slot, for a quick release QB and system? if the pass rush was the problem, edelman should have been the answer.

hi snoog

Fair enough. And let's just say I don't hold Cashman in very high regard either. I would like to see Cashman work for a mid or low market team and see how he does. Shit if he took over a pretty high payroll team like the Tigers and took them to the Series after a few years, I'd be impressed. I just think he's probably had an easier road than most if not all other GMs in the business.

He was coasting by on the Babe Ruth like hotstreak he got on before the break. He's been much more consistent this year. He's been one of the absolute bright spots of the 2017 lineup.

Chris Christie to the Mets.

Seems like a win/win for both parties
