Manhandled = lost on a last minute field goal

But yes they didn't look great all year

I agree

Until Michigan/bowl game

Had Zeke and Michael Thomas

They have done fair professionally
OSU had scoring drives of 6 yards and 32 yards and had a total of 132 yards. Not passing yards or rushing yards, TOTAL yards. Michigan State with no QB put up nearly 300 yards. Ezekiel Elliott has 33 yards and under 3 yards a carry. OSU’s Offense was manhandled.

Man you are angry

You know you guys don't get to win it all every year right?

I assume you're old enough to get through some rougher roads ahead

It's a debate sir. Just because you emphatically state your position doesn't make it any stronger

And yes you got beat by a team that lost to UCF

Gross.

Hmmm, we don't get to win it every year you say?

Well shit, I guess I better start basing my opinion on what's best overall instead of just what's best for Alabama.

So....

Anything more than 4 teams is shit, and if Alabama ends up #5 or worse, then Alabama ends up #5 or worse. I guess we should have scheduled better and not lost so many games.

The arguments are not sound arguments.

We argue about the wrong things.

We do not understand how a playoff works and/or what is its
chief goal.

A "playoff" is an elimination process. The Elimination should take
place on the field, not in a back room.

You first have to eliminate Independents. If they want to play for a
NC. If they don't let them play whomever they want. They just won't get in.

Take only the Conf Champs. They have eliminated everybody in their league. (The first step of elimination) Go from 130 down to
10.

Then the 10 play it off. Eventually only one team will be left
standing. That's the NC.

Too many people worry about who is the real Number 2 team in
the Country. Who gives a shit? We can argue that in the off-season. The playoff is only intended to find out who is #1.

The seeding takes place before the season begins. You'll
know your bracket before the season kicks off.

2 first round games. Champs of the MWC, MAC, CUSA and
Sun Belt play.

Winner of CUSA-Sun Belt faces SEC in week 2. Winner of
MAC-MWC faces Big10 Champ week 2. Also week 2...
ACC-AAC play and Pac12-Big12 play.

Week 3 is winner of CUSA/Sun Belt/SEC vs Winner of AAC-ACC.
Winner of MAC/MWC/Big10 vs Winner of Big12-Pac12.

Week 4 is the title game.

You don't need a committee, or "another man's opinion." It's
all settled on the field.

Your shit is hard to read, let the website handle the margins and page returns.

Also I just want to point out that the people who want AQ and then at the same time claim "it's all settled on the field" are 100% full of shit.

It's not settled on the field because you are giving people with the easiest schedules the easiest access, while excluding teams who play tougher schedules.

Why the hell should Alabama stay in the SEC under such a system? What benefit would be served for playing a tough conference? Why should the Big12 expand to add more teams? Why should any team ever play a quality OOC opponent?

Meanwhile, I saw this years season settled on the field.

I saw Alabama go undefeated and make the playoffs.
I saw Clemson go undefeated and make the playoffs.
I saw ND go undefeated and make the playoffs.
I saw Oklahoma drop 1 game, win the rematch and make the playoffs.

I saw Ohio St struggle and get blown out by a bad team.
I saw Georgia lose to Alabama in the SECCG in a good game.

Do you dispute that it still took a last minute field goal

In the driving rain

Michigan State didn’t have a quarterback. Half of OSU’s points came because our kick returner muffed a punt.

There was a time my signature here was “no one wants Michigan State in the rain.” We for our asses kicked in the rain this year.

I think playoff expansion is when not if at this point. My prediction is a 6 team playoff by 2020.

What difference does it make, you're both out. If Georgia had won you could try to make the argument that your 4 touchdown beat down was better than their loss, but they didn't.

This is all extremely convenient given

But again

OSU
2015

Three point loss

That's it.

Georgia 2018....

What the hell did LSU beat them by?

20?

My whole point is that objectivity is a much better criteria than hashing out some eye test.

4 teams is plenty until you have 5 conf. champs that are undefeated. That wont happen so 4 is enough. The only problem with the current system is letting ND in without being in a conf.

I highly doubt it. Even if the P5 conferences wanted to do it, which they clearly don't, ESPN would have to agree. ESPN has a contract that runs through 2025. Unless they figure out a way to monetize it, it isn't going to happen.

This contract gives them rights to televise the Contract and Host Bowls, which is in addition to the other bowls they televise including the ones they own outright(15). In all, 35 of 40 bowl games are being broadcast by Disney.

I think the legitimate fear that Disney has is that expanding the playoffs would have a disastrous effect on the rest of their bowl lineup. This is not an insignificant concern because they own the broadcast rights to all the NY6 bowls and they outright own 15 of the shitty bowl games. Literally the biggest game, by far, they are not doing is the Holiday Bowl.

ESPN is paying 470 million a year for the playoffs. Somebody is going to have to justify to them paying significantly more to televise the same games that they are already televising.
