Was stated this week by a sports writer that Heineman can play CF but did not think he would be a full time candidate. If that is true, we will be getting OF heavy. Thoughts?

We will play four OF spots and leave 3B empty out of respect for Beltre.

Very true. Would rather have Matuella than Curtis despite feel good story. New UIF will likely off roster but get a ST invite.

Ther are definite holes to fill and some guys even at MILB level must develop and need to be added but not ready to be counted upon yet.

Would hate to lose top 5 but top 3 are only ones who likely have shot IMO to be MLB ready this year at an outsider glance. Just shows we need guys at upper levels to call on who are MLB caliber in case of injury. No news here but depth is at lower levels.

Have attended an average of 38 games over the last 5 years decided this year to pass on season tickets. Not much to see here now that AB has retired and they don't seem to be intense

Scotty- You are the exact demographic Rangers ownership wil want to recapture in 2020 and why there will be at least one splash signing then.
Hope that signing makes sense from a contention standpoint.

It will be 3 years this coming season since I have bought a season ticket package. Doubt I buy again until time and energy frees up after retirement

I'm too old to wait that long. I've been a Ranger since game 1 and don't think there will be time for me to see this team become important again

Baseball America Texas Rangers top 10 prospect list is out

Baseball America’s top 10 prospect list for the Texas Rangers is out, and you will be happy to know that the Rangers are gettin’ sum pitchin’ up in here, as the #1 prospect in the organization is a pitcher — righthander Hans Crouse.

Its an interesting list, with BA being higher than most on Anderson Tejeda and 2018 fourth rounder Mason Englert, while continuing to be lower than would be expected on 2017 first round pick Bubba Thompson, whose solid campaign with Hickory this year didn’t seem to alleviate some of the concerns surrounding him.

Notable omissions include 2016 first rounder Cole Ragans, who missed all of 2018 due to Tommy John surgery, and righthanded pitcher Tyler Phillips, who dominated the South Atlantic League and put himself on the prospect map this year, but not enough to crack the BA top 10.

I think a lot of folks are going to disagree with Tejada being higher than Phillips and especially Ragans.

I have no subscription to this but it looks like he thinks Phillips is a polished strike thrower but has doubts it translates to MLB without an improved curve. He is standing pat on Ragans but maybe mid season it changes post injury comeback. At least our pitching is moving to a strength
