The Jets will give the Steelers a first and fourth. This is huge for them with the Giants having Barkley.
It's New York and if you can't go big, don't go at all, regardless of the cost.

If the Jets can get him, they will happily overpay.

This will be almost if not as stupid as Gruden trading Mack. Getting Bell does not help the Jets unless you want to sell tickets as schmoopy pointed out. Otherwise trading for Bell is a royal screw job for the Jets. You have to remember Bell is under a franchise tag so he cannot agree to a new deal unless that tag is rescinded. Which would be pretty stupid for the team that holds his rights because he instantly becomes an UFA and can sign with anyone. So the only way a trade happens is if he signs that tag and it is still for this year only. So after this year he will become an UFA because the Steelers, Jets or whoever gets him will not tag him. There is no way Bell does not test the market.

The Steelers will sit on him rather than trade him for less than the 3rd rounder they'll get for losing him in free agency this winter.

Yup...that is the only logical choice because I doubt anyone offers more than a 5th for him.

I think Bell lands with the Jets in the offseason, they have a ridiculous amount of cap space, a young franchise QB, having a great back to lean on for Darnald will be a wise move

I see no reason to surrender a haul at this stage if Im the Jets

With that said, the AFC East may be more up for grabs than it has in many years

I bet everyone reached out. They are not trading him to a AFC team lol.

It's about time the Packers finally get a running back.

They need a defense but man.....Rodgers would have a Madden video game offense with Bell.

ticket sales.
Honestly dont know if the Jets sale out or not, but when you sign a big name between that & jersey sales & all of that. jets need something to root for. They got their QB (or so they think) & a running game is a young QBs best friend. it is a mold that has worked forever.

Great points.

Draft pick (s). No players.

The NFL is different than MLB and the NBA.
typically yeah.

But player for player still happens sometimes.

This makes the most sense. IMO the Jets are rebuilding and while adding Bell makes them better it also may add more wins which in turn will hurt their draft position. They can add some nice pieces via the draft and with a lot of cap room can change the entire landscape of the team.

They Steelers may be willing to shop Bell but the are negotiating from a position of weakness.

I think only a very serious contender would surrender a package that includes a first rounder, because like you pointed out, he can't be signed. Off the top of my head, the Packers fit the bill, but that is just never how the Pack operate

No one from the NFC should consider trading for Bell. Not even a SB contender. The NFC is just too loaded with good teams and to be honest it is a crapshoot as to who will come out on top in the end. Right now the Rams are the best team in the NFL but that does not mean they will not be beaten by one of the NFC teams late in the playoffs. Bell to the Packers would make them really scary but it is as you said. They Pack do not operate like that.

Bell is better off sitting all year , letting teams think he's elite then signing somewhere in the off-season for big money as opposed to going to a team like the Jets where he's surrounded by inferior talent and putting up shit numbers for half a season and driving his value into the toilet

That really doesn't apply in the NFL with a salary cap. Most teams spend about the same amount of money.\

I don't know about that. He could be pretty decent with the Jets. Their current RB's are rushing for 4.5 YPC, so the O-line is getting a good push.
Sitting out all season could hurt him more than showcasing his skills.

Well he can't actually sut out all year or he won't reach UFA but he'd be better off in Pitt after week 10 even if he doesn't play imo. The Jets aren't equipped to showcase him. Say he goes there and is average . Teams will then think "man was he only good in Pitt because he had so much talent around him ?". Now if he gets a guaranteed contracts from them first then go for it but he shouldn't go anywhere without that . Nothing but downside for him.

Being concerned about workload

Le'Veon Bell says he's 'up for 500' touches Lofty expectations aside, Bell had more than 400 touches two years ago before remaining on the sidelines in 2018. After some rumors of Bell gaining weight this offseason, his teammates and the team believe he's in shape heading into the preseason. Coach Adam Gase also mentioned this week that the Jets may limit his preseason touches. "It’s a new offense," Gase said Wednesday. "We’ll be smart. He’s not going to be walking out of camp with the most reps he’s ever had." Gase's slower pace over the years could slightly cap Bell's upside, but he'll be coming off draft boards as a mid-level RB1.
