CD a homer? How long did it take to get him behind Siemian? And people are calling him a homer? People are amusing.
Well there are rumors circulating that Kubiak could retire after this season. If that happens then yeah there could be some huge changes among the coaches. At least for me my #1 coach I would love to see walk through the door is Kyle Shanahan. That Atlanta offense has really taken off with him this year and a bit part of that being the OL opening things up in the run game. They run a similar scheme to the Broncos but from what I understand a much more updated version. Shanahan has realized that the old ZBS just doesn't function well with the new rules so has gone to a more gap style blocking scheme especially on the back side of the play to help keep opening up the cut back lanes.
Honestly looking forward to see what Elway all does this off season. Very pivotal time for this organization of either having one down year and bouncing back to among the elite or falling back to the crowd even more.
If the Kubiak rumors are true I am in complete agreement with Kyle Shanahan being the best pick. But we would still need a legit OC. One that can execute Shanahan's scheme. But that's all I'll say for now. Seems everyone is down and conceding the season and I'll admit it seems a long shot from where we sit now but until they're officially eliminated I'll reserve hope and expectation the team will make the playoffs. I recall being 8-6 in 2004 and coming off a 45-17 drubbing by the Chiefs that knocked the Broncos out of the 6 seed and into the thick of bubble teams all jostling for the playoffs. The narrative was the Broncos were done. Two weeks later it was 10-6 and in the playoffs (for an ugly beating by the Colts) but my point remains: 2 weeks is a long time in the NFL and a lot can change.
Not disagreeing. My main point though is even if we do make the playoffs I think some decent changes on the Offensive side of the ball are coming. And I would say it will be much more in the coaching department than actual player department. Can't just keep changing our entire OL year after year and hoping for better results.
As for OC I'm actually hoping Gregg Knapp would get a look that is on our staff. Kubiak said that he is the one calling the plays when the team goes into hurry up. Well this entire season the only time this offense has been consistently successful is when we go more to the hurry up usually because we have no other choice. I like his creativity a bit more and think he could do well paired with Shanahan.
I do apologize if it sounds like I am a bit short today. Good friend passed away last night and going off little sleep. Probably not the best state of mind to be trying to respond to people.
I agree about the O-line. You can't overhaul it every year. This is why I've resigned myself to managing expectations for next year. I'm not expecting a rebirth of the late 90s unit. I'm hoping for marginal improvement on that unit. And honestly I think that's reasonable even with the same personnel group.
Let's say the rumors about Kubiak are false. Year 3 of Kubiak's tenure would be the first where he did not have to see massive change from one season to the next. Year 1 was a complete overhaul of the system and year 2 was 4/5 new O-linemen and a 2nd year 7th round pick replacing one of the greatest QBs of all time. That much turbulence can really undermine a solid roster. But if in 2017 there are marginal improvements: say make an upgrade to one of the O-line positions and give Siemian the entire off season as the anointed starter, coach up Booker (disappointing rookie year but that doesn't mean he's not a legit option going forward) and hopefully have Anderson back this offense can be a decent unit. Let's let it develop and see what we've got. I believe our chances for success are better exploited going that route than overhauling the entire thing in 2017 because it didn't work in 2016.
We are sure to have more really interesting talk around here this off season.
Sorry for the loss of your friend.
I wasn't crying, those were tears of joy![]()
With how bad we suck at developing young OL I am all for giving up a high pick for Joe Thomas.
Add Zeitler...
Not sure we can add both of those guys, but would be nice.
Draft John Ross in round 1 (somehow), fills our slot, KR/PR duties.
Sounds good to me CEH.
Joe thomas LT
Kevin zieter G
Alex Gibbs coaching
Mccathery pr/kr/3rd wr/rb
Plenty of other drafts picks
How about that for Solution
I assume some draft capital for Thomas
For his discipline and kick your ass attitude.Calm down Crash
Not that I want to agree with a Patriots fan but you are correct. CD is the ultimate homer that thinks the Broncos can do no wrong and all it takes is one guy or one coach. The o line except Paridis is a joke. I told CD numerous time that Stephenson and Okung weren't going to help and he always came up with the injury excuse or need more time to gell. Well there is no time left. The run defense is a problem as well. Losing Jackson hurt more then others will agree. Hell CD still thinks Montee Ball is good. No matter how many times Ive told him that I have seen Ball in every one of his college games living in Wisconsin. I knew the guy was trouble as well but CD would have none of that. CD means well but isn't ever one to admit he was wrong and is the ultimate homer. He is good for information about the Broncos and is a great asset to this Broncos message board but he needs to take off the orange and blue glasses every now and then. I'm no Manning or Brady fan but if CD thinks that T.S. or Lynch will ever produce at there levels then I can't even defend that. Peace.

Two of our losses were execution issues on simple plays Tenn and KC
One win was executing the blocked kick NO
One win was the other team not executing an FG CAR
I'm not sure yet what we have at QB
On third and 1 Sieman sacked for a 15 yard loss. I have real concerns about his football
IQ when this happens
Okung and paradis may be the only OLineman of NFL quality
