We are fortunate to be 6-0. The offense was really inconsistent today, though not all bad. Manning and those picks...that's gotta stop. I'm not going to put the whole offensive struggles on him but today he made some exceptionally bad throws that got picked.
Defense was amazing as usual but even they undermined themselves with some critical penalties. They didn't get much help from the offense either.
The Browns made a critical mistake by insisting on going for 2 after the Pick-6. That decision cost them a much-needed point. Assuming the Broncos didn't go for and get two on the long TD, the game would have been 23-22 and the Browns game tying FG would have been a game winner. But coaching is a part of the game too, and while I think going for 2 to make it 22-16 is chasing points, the Browns had their reasons for the decision.
Ultimately the defense stepped up and made plays when they needed to and the offense, following an awful pick in OT, got it done. Kudos to the defense on the OT stand following that pick because the Browns needed just a few yards for a legit FG attempt.
Bottom line: 6-0 is 6-0. The Broncos have played half their road schedule, including 2 AFC West roadies.
There is a lot of work to do on offense during this bye. We also have some bumps and bruises to be concerned about. Sanders, Ray, and Ware...hopefully all three will be ready to go.
Notable: Shaq Barrett filling in for Ware...just...wow. Great game. This defense has some serious depth.
