I'm hearing Seattle is offering to pay $8.1 mil this year, but reports are Kam Chancellor doesn't get out of bed for more than $9 mil. This is just fucking ridiculous.

Like I said before, I'm glad the Seahawks have cut-off negotiations with his greedy ass. The Seahawks already did him a huge favor by giving into his demands and move money around for him but if he's willing to lose millions over 900k then let him sit and collect his fines.

Greedy. So greedy.

Don't expect Kam until week 10 when he has to be in to get this year off of the books for FA. He's a punk. His agent is a punk. I hope they sit him when he does show up and dare him to pull the same thing next year instead of trading him during the off-season. Fuck him.

I don't think he is a punk but he is making a bad decision. And it is becoming a selfish decision.

I don't know when he will report but if he reports in Week 10 then he probably will never wear a Seahawks jersey again.

Bad, bad decision and a lose lose situation. Bums me out, but never the less I feel everyone needs to look out for themselves first and foremost , because nobody else is going to do that for you. Unfortunately Kam made a decision that isn't going to work out in his best interest...or the Seahawks. Just a bum situation, hoping it gets resolves soon.

I really don't know why everyone is blaming the agent. Kam is a big boy that makes his own way. And this whole thing doesn't seem like something that an agent would be completely supportive of, let alone the mastermind of.

Just basing it off the article about his agent and how he may have been the source of this. Obviously, no one can know for sure outside those two, but the mere suggestion of his agent's encouragement gives Kam the opportunity to use him as the fall guy, apologize to the team and FO, and then return with having his accrued financial penalties waived. I think if it can somehow go down that way, things can be forgotten pretty soon. At this point, is there a better suggestion that's actually somewhat reasonable where both sides could save some face?

This is an A-hole move on his part, but no way you bench him. He makes the team better and the ultimate goal is to win the SB. Don't penalize the rest of the team more by keeping his talents on the bench just to prove a point.

Yeah, I wouldn't play him if he reports in week 10... I'd sit him and then trade him once the season is over...

At this point, I don't expect him to be in a Seahawks uniform again. I thought he was trying to make his point by missing out on week one and report Monday in preparation for week 2 but it seems like now he's preparing to sit the season. I'm now treating this as a season-ending injury and move on from him.

If he tries to report for week 10 they should tell him to go home and pay him not to be there.

I still keep thinking Kam's going to show up. If he's not back in pads by Wednesday next week, then I might be in agreement as well he could be done with the Seahawks.

I think at this point Kam will feel he has to go for broke. Missing tw o games puts him in a huge hole.

True, but i believe Emmit Smith missed the first two games and came back. I think Dallas won the SB too.

Kam will be back, but by the time he is it won't matter much. As much as I'd like to see the team trade him, I don't think they are going to do so unless someone just offers up something stupid overpriced for him. I don't know if he is going to hold out all the way to week 10, but that's a good possibility at this point. I'm guessing somewhere between weeks 5 and 10. Sooner or later his lost game checks will mount up.

The question is what do we do with him next off season?

When he does come back will his heart be in it? Knowing the team didn't entirely cave in and give him what he wants, he might just not be what we know Kam normally is. By then this team could be out of it already. How much will his teammates resent him for throwing away their chances at a deep run?

Find a lot to agree with and a lot to disagree with your post Wiz.

Yes, I think he holding out until game 10. Most likely a good idea to see if the Seahawks can get fair value for next offseason .

I being a glass half full kind of guy think the Seahawks can succeed without him. Just so much talent on the defense besides Kam.

Not that I disagree with you, wiz. But if that happens and his teammates feel like him not being there is what cost them a deep playoff run, don't you think they might resent the team for not bringing him back more than they would him? I mean, if they never recover (which I am 100% convinced they will), doesn't that just kind of prove his point about his importance to the teams and maybe he should have some longer term security. I could defenitely see his teammates seeing it that way if this causes the wheels to come off (which it won't).

I didn't say they can't win without him, but said it may be too late. And whether or not they are in a title hunt, his return could do more harm than good if it's a toxic return. He would be in better health than most of the rest of the defense, but rusty as hell. And if he's not coming back in fully on board I'm not sure we see him give 110% like normal.

If he's not back by week 4 I'm basically giving up on him and really don't care if he ever returns.

The players know the business side better than we do. He's one year in on a four year deal. They all know the bind he's putting the team in. Every last one of them. If he had two years left he'd have a lot more player support and if there was one year left probably nearly every player. But 3? They get it. The team really can't give him what he wants and they know why. IF there is resentment it will be because they understand it so well. I think a few will support him, and many will not. It's divisive. And that's not going to help things when he does return to that locker room.

At this point I think it's over for Kam. He's painted himself in a corner and is only coming back to get a year taken off his contract. Yeah don't see him being all that valuable at that point. He'll get traded next offseason IMO. The Seahawks will find a way to make it work without him.
