yah i would guess that Valyarian steel is forged by dragons fire ... and with the scarcity of dragons that would explain the scarcity of valyarian steel swords lol

So when do we see Benjen Stark again? He still has to be a character right? No closure on that end thus far. And while I'm thinking about it, is Nymeria still in play? Do Rickon and Osha show up in Winterfell? I'm trying to think of characters that are unseen right now.

Arya's direwolf. She was released in to the wild when the Lannisters killed Lady (Sansa's).

All excellent questions.

I'm not sure when Benjen will show up but I consider him to be 1 of several likely candidates to reveal who John's mother is. There's a pretty popular theory as to who the mother is, but what I'm wondering is how/when it will be revealed. I'm pretty sure Benjen knows something based on a comment he made during his conversation with John in the 1st episode.

Not a book spoiler at all but I mentioned once or twice that I think Rickon and Osha might be found by Brienne and/or Pod Payne. Maybe that's what it will take for Sansa to trust Brienne, Theon too for that matter. Maybe she has them with her already. It's a different character that learns of Rickon's whereabouts in the books but with all the changes that have been made, I doubt that it will play out the same way.

Gotta believe that Nymeria will turn up sooner or later. I believe she was last seen in the Riverlands. The Riverlands were a major focal point in season 3 but haven't been since. The Freys, what's left of the Tulleys, the Brotherhood are all in the Riverlands and haven't been seen in a while.

Also wondering where and when we'll see Gendry again. Again not a book spoiler at all as he never left the brotherhood in the books but if I had to guess, I'd say that he got captured by a slave ship and could end up in the fighting pits with Jorah, or he's a slave to the same guy as Jorah but as an armorer not a fighter.

Was just watching a John Candy clip on another thread.

Wouldn't he have made a GREAT Sam Tarly?

Change that, he WAS Sam Tarly.

RIP John.

Okay; that's it. I've always had a kind of grudging resect for Stanis Baratheon's sense of honor & right & wrong, but now that's completely over with.

I want him dead.

Me too. He was always relatively decent compared to everyone else but not anymore. I hope Davos comes back and kicks some red bitch ass.

Fantastic episode! 1 of my favorites!

The Red Wedding or Ned Stark beheading might have been the most shocking scenes in the series, but for me Shireen being burnt alive was easily the most emotional. They've been foreshadowing the possibility of it forever but didn't think Stannis would ever approve of it.

Not sure who will be more pissed at Stannis for burning his daughter, Davos or Meryn Trant.

Agree with all re Stannis. I want him dead also. Next week. I actually want to see Roose and Ramsay flay him alive.

Not saying it was an easy decision for Stannis, but he put his personal ambitions ahead of his devoted daughter. Scumbag.

Nice contrast by the directors. Remember last week, Tyrion tells Danerys something like "A ruler who kills those devoted to her, does not inspire devotion" (or something like that). This week, Stannis gives Shireen the old Roman "thumbs down" with little struggle, then the directors cut to Danerys, seeing Jorah walk out to fight in the pits. She struggles before she claps her hands, knowing it could very well be Jorah's death sentence. So which pretender inspires devotion, who is the better ruler?

I thought Emilia Clarke had one of her better weeks. You could really feel her conflict and pain before she decides on Jorah;s fate. And Iain Glen was awesome. He looks at Danerys when she is struggling and only through facial expression says: "It's OK Danerys, I failed you, I love you, I know it is over. I accept my fate. Do what you have to do. Thsi was my choice."

And I just want to say...To the Directors:

Don't make me wait another year! Get filiming, not like you have to wait on a book to come out or anything.
