I give the draft a D. Only because I like the Mike Davis pick. All the other picks were just.. ugh

I don't like grading drafts until at least a couple of years after the draft. We don't know how these players will turn out. Still, I find many of the picks questionable. These picks really put Baalke on the spot. If these guys bust and it is 2012 all over again, I would fire him if I was the owner.

Does that firing come with an open apology and job offer to Jim Harbaugh? cause that's what I would do.

I dont get this talk about us be in a rebuilding mode just because we lost some top guys. We still have a QB than can be great and our last several drafts have been on depth and talent we could develop. It's time to see how some of that paid off. If it does then we're not rebuilding. We could even be getting better.

I tend to agree. But it seems to me that the rebuild talk is because of Tomsula, rather than our actual team!

My Final Grade: As right now Value I give it a D to C-( I think only 2 players will see some action this year)

Future Value I give it a B with a chance to be an A if we went a couple home runs.

Harbaugh is done in SF. That ship has sailed. Unless, the owners sell the team which is highly unlikely. They will be looking for a new coach and GM if things really turn south over the next couple of years. If that were to happen, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tom Gamble promoted.

We need to think of this class as adding talent, not as immediate help. Don't know if these guys are in fact the maximum, but that is how i'll VIEW it. :-)

IF Arik Armstead is a SOLID run stopper, then we should be ok with that pick. we shouldn't expect our DE's to get many sacks anyway. If he can stop the run and create a little havoc on pass plays, we should take it. If he puts his hands up at the right time, that alone can cause a little havoc.

i'd think Tartt is where most of us really got "messed up"? But he's a little taller and hopefully a better cover Safety? IF so, we really need that with today's TE's and 3 WR's. By next season he could be playing quite a bit?

i LIKE the Eli Harold pick after reading more about him. Cause while you think you have enough pass rushers, things change fast year to year. Like last year we THOUGHT we had a surplus at RB, or this year where we thought we were solid at MLB.

Bell goes back to questionable, cause i don't like versatility to justify a 4th round pick? Maybe 5th and later ok, but not the 4th round.

Mike Davis seems like solid value, and could be a significant contributor next season. Hunter may not come back well enough, and Bush may no longer be the guy he was?

Smelter is the typical ACL pick, no comment.

Pinion IMO, is not a bad pick. Andy Lee is still good, but is he $2M good? the salary cap is placing a lot of pressure on the team depth, so its hard to spend $2M on a punter. We can take a few yards less with more hang time, but in return we can better utilize that cap $$.

and this is how we should view it, cause don't see who else would've played a lot this season? generally, you don't expect much from rookies anyway.

with the benefit of draft hindsight now, who could we have drafted instead, that would'e made immediate contributions?

Everyone is saying why did we draft Pinion if we have Andy Lee, but I see Pinion as replacement for Dawson.
Pinion can boot kickoffs, maybe you can train him to kick field goals.

maybe, but i'd venture big difference between kicking as far as you can, versus kicking it between the posts? If he could kick field goals, wouldn't he already be considered a PK?

anyway, the more he can do the better, just not expecting him to be good at both.

I expect 1st and 2nd rd players to be starters or important part of the team in year 1.

Pinion pick made no sense at all especially that u could got him in the 6th or 7th.

Like I said This move only makes sense if we cut Lee to save money and if we do that, that would be stupid to cut one of the best punters in the league. He changes field position. Important part of the game.

If you could change all the picks by the 49ers who would you take? Im gonna go over each pick and change to who I think we should of took.

#17 Marcus Peters CB Washington. Picked #18 by Chiefs
#46 Denzel Perryman ILB Miami. Picked #48 by Chargers
#79 Danielle Hunter DE LSU. Picked #88 by Vikings
#117 Rashad Greene WR FSU. Picked #139 by Jaguars
#126 Brett Hundley QB UCLA. Picked #147 by Packers
#132 Jay Ajayi RB Boise Sate. Picked #149 by Dolphins
#165 Michael Bennett DT OSU. Picked #180 by Jaguars
#190 Nick O'Leary TE FSU. Picked #194 by Bills
#244 Tre McBride WR William & Mary. Picked #245 Titans
#254 La'el Collins OT LSU. UDFA

Its easy to say this now with the draft over but if we went this route I would of giving our draft an A++. Ajayi has big questions about his knee and some are saying its bone to bone. They only expect him to last maybe 4 year tops but we already have Hyde and if we could get 4 good year out of Ajayi I would be excited. La'el was suppose to be a 1st round pick but fell off cuz he is being question about his ex GFs murder. We dont know if he did it or not but if he is innocent it would be a steal of the draft. I feel like this hits at every position and even gives us great depth.

LOL, I thought someone would ask this. The 2013 draft class I would have to give an incomplete as most of the players from that draft I still haven't seen enough from for the most part. Eric Reid was a great pick and that one deserves an A. Havent seen enough from Tank, Lemonier, Patton, Dial, and, Moody. McDonald struggled in the passing game and had injury issue but I haven't given up on him yet. I down a bit on Lemonier, he couldn't generate any sort of pressure and lost the job to Lynch. I think the draft grade could still be anywhere from A to a C at this point.

ok, i'll change my earlier post, and agree a 15th pick is high enough to be a starter. Now with the benefit of hindsight, who should we have drafted at 15th (or 17th)?

Will agree a 2nd rounder would have reps in year 1, but not agree he is expected to start. granted, this is with our current roster in mind. With our current team, wouldn't expect a 2nd rounder to even "be an important part' THIS season. Play in games yes, important part...not quite.

8-8 team yes this is what I expect. at 15 we could of took Peters who would start right away or at least play 30-40% of the snaps. 2nd rd we could of got DGB or strong. Both would of got playing time this year.

Also don't forget we took a punter with the 5th rd pick when we have an all pro punter.

there is no guarantee you can get a player later on, there are 31 other teams who DON'T follow mocks. This isn't saying Pinion was a great pick, but if you want a certain player, don't get cute.

2013 class i give it a C+. We got an pro bowl Safety, Tank who will start this year, Patton(bust), Lemonier(Depth), Dial (I like him), mcDonald(bust).
