if it comes down to just solely money the Jags will win this contest.
The Cowboys need to sign Dez long term (IMO) before they can sign Murray, but if the Jags are serious about taking Murray I think they could do it. If Murray doesn't care about a chance to get into the post season.
With the move Jacksonville has made in draft and FA I think they are 2 yrs away from a serious playoff push.

If I'm not mistaken I think Murray has said he would only be willing to go to a super bowl contender. The interest just doesn't seem to be there. At least not at the price he is asking. I think he stays in Dallas.

I'm really hoping Murray finds another home. Mostly because I think finding a stud at RB is tough and I don't care how good the OL is ( while the Cowboys have a good one, it's not all that IMO) you need a stud at RB. Come on Jags, sign Murray already, then we'll see how this goes.

I am hoping this is how it turns out.

blah, blah blah, it's always about the money. Now if no one steps up, then yes he's back in Dallas, but if someone(Jags) step up with some dough, he'll sign. Then folks will be talking about how much the Jags got better with him and J. Thomas.

That may be the case but no matter how you slice it, the premium for running backs has diminished greatly in the past few years. I think we all know running backs still play an integral role in a teams super bowl aspersions but nevertheless their price for service has dropped.

A balanced team has to have a decent running game, that's what opens up the pass in the first place.
However, when you have an outstanding Oline, a mediocre back can look like a super star......
I'm not sold on Forsett as a feature back for us, there were times last yr when was stifled and this was the first successful season he has ever had, turning 30 and seems to be looking for 1 big payday and he can take his foot off the gas.....
I would offer a prove it contract or just go to the draft, I actually like Taliafaro better than him anyway.
Jerry ain't no fool and Murray will take his offer or he'll be replaced....
I think he stays in Dallas.....

RB isn't as important in today's pass happy NFL.

It's still pretty important for the Cowboys though. Leaning on the run and Murray is what got them back into the playoffs and won them a game. Before that, when they were too pass happy they were suck in a 8-8 rut.

Cowboys are going to need a running game if they want to make it back to the playoffs, they can't do it being pass happy or they would have when that was there MO.

Murray is gonna realize how nice it was running behind that Dallas O-line if he's with another team next year... Also isn't it kind of a buyer beware thing with Murray ? Wasn't last year his first full healthy season ?

Saw a couple of "rumors" on twitter that the Jags are also interested.

Yeah, I am sure they are. I saw that too as well as the Raiders. I wonder if they have a shot though? I guess if he just follows the money which many do then he will. He does have a taste of the playoffs though.

That said, the Jags could be better this year. Bortles could mature into a decent NFL QB and now he has a big target. They also got better on D and at WR the last few years through the draft. They actually were getting pretty good pressure last season too. Still probably a little way away from a playoff birth though.

That's pretty similar to what I'm thinking.

RB DeMarco Murray visiting the Eagles

Free-agent running back DeMarco Murray will visit the Eagles on Thursday, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Murray ran for an NFL-best 1,845 yards and totaled 13 rushing yards for the Cowboys in 2014. The Cowboys have reportedly offered him a deal worth $5 million per year.

The Eagles added running back Ryan Mathews to the roster on Wednesday. However, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that Murray called Eagles coach Chip Kelly to express interest in playing for Philadelphia.

If Murray agreed to a deal with the Eagles, he'd reunite with his former Oklahoma teammate Sam Bradford, the former No. 1 overall pick by the Rams in the 2010 draft. The Eagles traded Nick Foles for Bradford on Tuesday.

Chip has it all figured out, you need 4 running backs

I think Murray and the Eagles are using each other to drive the price up for Dallas. Maybe Im wrong but that would make sense
