I am not very familiar with the show but saw this question posted on social media.

I am not a Rivera fan but don't want this to be a bash session that gets out of control. No coach or GM is perfect, but this question has me curious from a non emotional standpoint. I think we all have different thoughts on the Rivera tenure.

What was Riveras biggest mistake in your opinion?

I have 2: general mistake and personnel mistake

General mistake: Not realizing he was out of his depth and wanting full roster control. He lacked the experience and skillset for this. He should have brought a GM with him or promoted Kyle Smith to GM and worked with Kyle as partners regarding the roster, free agency, and draft. Instead, Rivera ran off Kyle and hired a GM in name only.

Personnel mistake: Trading for wentz.

drafting Young and thinking modern day Fearsome Foursome or Purple People Eaters?

I also think going corner with the Oregon corner on the board will be a HUGE swing and miss.

Good points.

I am waiting for someone to try to be a comedian and say

His biggest mistake:
Taking the job

I am sure it's coming.

I heard the segment yesterday. I listen to them pretty regularly.

Short list:
Bringing the bones of a losing organization with him and signing every Panther he could get his hands on.

Not addressing the offensive line.

Wasting years on QBs that had no future here....Fitz in particular was named.

Continuing to draft projects as if he had time and wasn't on the hot seat.

There were others, but those were the ones I remembered.

In another segment, they also mentioned how "passerbys" such as Ron and Jason Wright got to pick the name we all will presumably have to live with. Said Ron will be gone in four weeks and Jason "will be doing something important, somewhere else in four years."

Making the team, in essentially all facets except for off the field shenanigans, markedly worse over the four years he has been here.

Oline, dline, rb, cbs, gm, front office, alumni relations, te’s: all of them are worse.

Its an impressive list of failures on his part.
