We get it. Russell Wilson plays behind a below-average offensive line with an average receiving corps, but because his defense is good, anybody could have the 2nd highest QB Rating ever if they were in his shoes. Got it.

Russell is a solid QB, but he's not elite.

I think Russell is a perfect fit for that Seattle team. Athletic, can move around and create time, strong arm, and a good decision maker.

Manning and Brady are very good at quick reads and releasing the ball without holding on to it too long.

Correct Irish how's the syndicate doing these days?

Russell made some unbelievable 3rd and long lasers in perfect location for an ok group of receivers. Young man was great under pressure, and thats what you need in the big games. Some QB's fold under pressure like cheap tents

Took a hit during the Family Secrets trial, but still operating.

They've been keeping the head low these last few years, but definitely a big player in local politics

My bad Peyton had only 18 sacks and Brady 40. I agree about pass protection but keep in mind half has to do with how quick the QB can get it off. The year Brady was out Cassell had 3x as many sacks as Brady with same 0-line. Pocket passers that get rid of ball quick and dont survey the field for 5 seconds can be effective. either one would have been fine with Seattle's O-line

Great post. But it's so much more fun to blame one area of the team. It is a team sport, all players play a role in success or failure. Cracks me up when people rely on stats alone. Gotta look at the big picture.

Truth. Perfect QB for that team. And very talented.

Yeah quiet around here too most key players were sent away, some coming out end of this year and the power finally shifted from Prov RI back to Boston after 70 years.

A local news station recently shined a light into an Outfit run Janitorial Contracting company that just won a huge bid at O'Hare Airport. So they're definitely still strong, just very quiet these days.

Smart with the Rico act the Capone and Giacana days would be short lived. Wouldn't have to get a guy on tax-evasion

Giancana was far too flashy, with his friendship with Sinatra, and his dating of Monroe and his involvement with Kennedy.

After that era, the Outfit started transforming themselves, and became highly secretive. And did a good job of it, until the discovery of Anthony "the ant" Spilotro's body. That really got the ball rolling in terms of RICO cases

Hmmmm, beginning to think Sonny and Irish are 'connected'....to an outfit that may or may not be involved in the waste removal business

Not that there is anything wrong with that....

Who's running Boston these days? Are the Irish still running Winter Hill?

LOL. That's why the passing offense was nearly bottom of the league in passing efficiency before Wilson showed up. Keep hating though.

No Winter Hill is shut down. Howie Winter finally came out and has no interest. Him and Kevin weeks would like to get hands on Whitey if he wasn't captured, betrayed them all. The Italians who ran boston back then Anguilo's all went to prison and now that Luigi put himself on shelf and doing 5 yr bid ( he's 86) power went to Boston to Cheesman Dinunzio in charge ( brother filling in till he gets out) and Limone

Yeah I heard Kevin Weeks and Whitey got into a bit of a shouting match in court. I read a book by John Shea, one of Whitey's close guys, and Shea has said he'd kill Whitey if given the chance.

Had they been with the Seattle offense as long as Russell Wilson has.

I'll start a list of the QBs I think would have won it with Seattle as well. The bolded names are questionable, but I still think could've qb'ed the Seahawks to a Super Bowl last year. That defense was the reason for the title. Anyway, In no particular order....

Peyton
Brady
Rodgers
Brees
Luck
Eli
Roethlisburger
Ryan
Dalton
Flacco
Rivers
Smith
Stafford
Cutler
Cam
Healthy RG3
Romo
Foles
Kaepernick

That is 14-20 QBs that could have done it.

Disagree strongly.... You just don't understand the clutch factor that Wilson possesses... Seattle had one of the worst O-lines in the league at pass protection and didn't exactly have great receivers .... Half the qb's you mentioned would a got killed half way through the season with our O-line... Plus in the NFC title game it was Wilson's clutch big play's that got us by the 49rs ... Both Seattle and San Fran have great defenses so it came down to big play's .... Wilson got it done... And I"m not saying NONE of them could have, I"m just saying go back throughout our season and our O-line was in shambles.... Russ was running for his life and making things happen... Our O-line did gel more towards the end of the season though...
